Log 19

Once they were away from the panic, Lux, Kris, Fade, Asher, and William stopped to breath. Kris went to Lux and hugged him as she held back tears, Fade threw his gun and shook his head, and Will and Asher looked around the group and sighed.
"Kris, you don't get it. I think I....I think I liked him."

"Lux, I know. We all did."

"No, like really liked him. And now...." Lux looked to his hands as he wrapped his arm around Kris, "and now I don't know."

"Lux, Ryan's death isn't going to go in vain. We will kill Fletcher and who ever else supports him. Speaking of which." Fade turned to Asher and William, who were giving the mourning group their space.
His glare was as sharp as a knife as he glared at the two guards before him. Will took it to explain why they are doing what they are doing.
      "I have to protect Lux. He's the only family I have left."

"What about Mãe and Pai?"

"They passed of old age."

"Raph?"

       "Moved off with his girlfriend to another city. We have no one here." William turned to Lux who was standing between him and Fade.

      Suddenly there was a rustle in the bushes causing everyone to jump and pull their guns from their holsters. "Wooh Wooh Wooh, it's me guys. I got caught in the panic." Able walked out with his hand over his head.
    Everyone relaxed slightly and put their weapons away. Fade said they should rest in the woods while the panic is cleaned up before they go back into the city, "I know about a clearing by the river where we can set up." Fade said as he started walking into the timber.

     Kris followed then Able and William, leaving Lux and Asher in the back, "So this is how you ended up, Lux?"

"Yeah. Who are you?"

"I'm Asher, we went to school together. I was in mostly Will's classes, but I guess our friendship kinda died after a while. So I don't blame you if you don't remember me. "

"Your name is Asher Kenderson right?"

"Yep that's me."

"I remember that name. Didn't you have longer hair?"

"Yeah. I had to cut it for the military." Asher put a olive hand behind his head. His brown eyes glanced to the side as Lux remembered the friendship they had. They were close, not quite as close as Will and Lux but they were like the three amigos, getting into trouble, causing random fights. The things that normal teenagers do.
They would spend hours outside laying and looking at the stars taking about the future. When Lux was kicked out he stopped going to school and,in turn, he stopped talking to Asher.

      "Oi, Goldie-Lux you coming?!" Fade yelled from over his shoulder. Asher nodded and him and Lux followed the group from behind, still talking and catching up.
        Fade scoffed and shook his head. Oh how he hated losing someone under his command, especially when it was someone who was kinda close to them. Fade shook off his feelings and turned to see Kris, who was walking with her head down and tears welling in her eyes.  Fade sighed and without turning around he called to her, "Hey, Ryan wouldn't want you to cry."

      "I know, but it's still sad. We just lost a friend, Fade. That's hard enough to handle. Now we have to find Dr. Fletcher and end him." She looked up just as her foot caught on a dead branch on the dry ground.

      Kristin tumbled to the ground bracing for impact of the cold ground, but she never hit it. Instead, Fade caught her in his arms bracing her with his strength. Their arms locked together as she stared up at him.
       Their eyes met for a moment before Able ran up and pushed him off her, forcing her to fall. "Do not touch her! How do you want to explain how you got Ryan killed!?"
