Lux and Asher continued their walk to the edge of a cliff side. Their view was astounding, the river carved through the cliffs creating a lush canopy of greens in many shades. Flora and fauna of the canyon below flourished as they either flew, galloped, or swam near the river.
As the moon said goodbye for the day allowing the sun to show her full glory, Asher and Lux enjoyed the wind on their faces. They walked to the edge and sat with their feet dangling crossed at the ankle.
"This is amazing." Asher breathed as he took in the sunrise for the first time since he was fourteen. Being apart of the military-esk government had taken most of his "free time" away. He wasn't allowed to go anywhere without permission and personal outing were prohibited.
"Reminds me of home." Lux said as he laid back in the sweet grass. He rested his arms behind his back as he gazed up at Asher. That same feeling from before had struck Lux as the sun's pink and orange rays silhouetted Asher's face. His mind turned into a million pieces as his heart decided to have its own spasm in his chest.
Asher smiled at Lux as he laid next to him. With their backs in the grass they stared into the clouds. "Hey Lux?""Yeh?"
"What do you think Horus wanted to talk to Fade about?"
"I don't know. Judging by Fade's face he looks pretty flustered."
"That's a big word for you, flustered." Asher laughed at Lux's grumble. He shifted so he was on his side to see Lux's face. The tan boy had his emerald eyes closed as he rested his hands behind his head.
Suddenly a scream broke their serenity as it rang out, "I DON'T LIKE THIS! FADE!!" Asher sat up as he looked around to see Fade holding Kristin on a bronze glider. "Lux, look!" Asher shot up.
The cheerful teen pulled the once peaceful Lux up so he could see the others flying over the horizon.
They boys looked over the green tree tops as Fade held Kristin against his chest as they flew along the canopy. She looked terrified as Fade smiled and called out into the sky. The wind in their faces made them look so free and completely at peace with theirselves.
Kristin's hair was blowing around her face as she squeezed her eyes closed and buried her face into Fade's chest. Fade, on the other hand, was having a blast. His blue hair blew back as he yelled into the wind holding Kris close with one hand and the glider with other."Look at them, they totally love each other." Asher smiled as he watched them fly around. The sun in their faces Lux walked closer to Asher and wanted to put his hand around his waist for some reason but didn't because he thought that Asher would panic.
What Lux didn't know is that Asher wanted Lux to do something. He had been sneaking glances over to Lux as the wind blew his brown hair around his tan face.
As they watched the two fly for about a minute a loud "BANG!" rang over the forest. The loud noise caused Asher to gasp and fall back to the ground holding his chest. He started to gasp for air as his lungs tried to fill.
"Asher!?" Lux was quickly to his side with his arms around Asher's shoulders. Holding him close to his chest, Lux missed the outline of Kristin plummeting to the ground in one direction and Fade and his glider fell to another in a mess of metal and fabric. Lux held Asher close as he turned his chin to close Asher's face so he could hear his breathing incase he needed more help than Lux could provide.
Once his heart stopped pounding and his lungs were back to their original pattern, Asher turned to thank Lux. As Asher turned to see Lux, his lips grazed the stubble of Lux's cheek.
Terrified Asher shot up and put his hand to his mouth. "Oh my god! I'm so sorry I didn't mean to... I... i oh my god!" He stuttered as he stepped backwards. Lux stood dumbfounded as he watched Asher back closer to the edge. His mind going in a million different directions again as he tried to figure out what the feeling he was feeling when Asher kissed his cheek.
"Lux I... I didn't... I'm sorry. I... it's just... it was a.... I...." As Asher continued to stutter Lux felt a passion raise up from his chest. He started walking closer to Asher, who was backing away his hand still on his mouth. Lux had made up his mind and didn't care if he had just found Asher again, he was a person who Lux truly cared about. Asher was a close friend who Lux wanted to be more. He didn't to want to let him go.
Without thinking, Lux walked right up to him and grabbed Asher's by his shirt collar with both hands and pulled the slightly shorter boy close to him. "Fuck it! You talk to much." He growled as he locked his lips with Asher's.
Drawn back for a second Asher's brown eyes stayed open as he watched Lux kiss him. Asher's hand was still under Lux's wrapped in the material of his shirt.
After what seemed like an eternity, Asher relaxed and he sighed into the kiss. His brown eyes closed and he kissed Lux back. They kissed deeply for a moment before Lux realized what he did.
Startled, Lux pushed Asher back slightly and started backing away. "Asher... I'm... I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that." He mumbled as he stepped back from him.
To shocked to speak, Asher reached his arms out to talk to Lux, but it was in vain the brown haired boy took off sprinting after apologizing once more into the woods. "Don't wait up... I'll be here." Asher called after him.
Touching his lips Asher smiled and blushed as he fell to the ground, "Woa.... that was... wow..." Asher smiled before he threw his arms in the air, blushing and giggling at the while.
