"You're home.." Balvin said to me as i closed the door.

I looked around. "Yeah, why you sitting in the dark?"
I laughed turning on the lights.

It seemed to me that the roles switched.

"No reason, I was just waiting for you. Thought you'd be waiting for me." He looked me in my eyes. "Where you been at?"

I twisted my face at him. "Fuck that, you said you would be late."

"And?"

I glared at him before shaking my head and stomping up the stairs. "Nothing. Night."

I heard him push the chair back so he could get up. "This ain't gon work if you don't talk to me."

I turned around and looked down at him. "How can I do that? You're never here! I can never reach you."

He touched my face making me jerk my body away from him. "I don't want you to touch me right now." I narrowed my eyebrows at him.

"Mami, I'm here and you ain't even tryna talk to me. Do you expect me to give up on music?" His eyes softened.

I felt like he was just saying shit to piss me off at this point. "No. You know that's not the case and the fact that you're pretending like it is, just shits on this whole relationship. Don't play stupid, your not blind or dumb. You know what's going on. It ain't about the music... it's about what your using it for. Bitches, money, and a secret life. I thought we were in this together?"

"We are in this together... I'm in there for you and me. All that money and fame is for us. You always been a part of my vision you know that."

I shook my head. "Nah, you were there for yourself—which I respect, but other reasons, too which I don't respect."

"Hennessy-"

I waved him off as I yawned. "It's been a long day, I'm tired. I'm sure you are too." I started to walk up the stairs.

I closed the door behind me after I made my way upstairs. I removed my clothing before slipping on an oversized t shirt that I had taken from my brother the last time I saw him.

I made sure to lock the door before I got in bed. "He better stay downstairs." I breathed.

"You home?" The text message showed in the banner

"Yea, thanks. No one ever really ask me that. Wby?"

"I am, no need to thank. Wyd up?" He said

"I'm not sure, but you got me occupied. And you?"

I watched the bubble form as he typed his response. "I wouldn't sleep if I ain't know you were safe."

I smiled at my phone before locking it and putting it down. I covered my face.

Butterflies.

The littlest things he said or did were effortless but they made my heart leap in 20 different directions.

"That's sweet... you getting all soft on me?"

"Me soft? Never."

"Yeah aight." I sent with a laughing emoji.

"Whenever you ready to stop fucking with a lame nigga... I'll be here." He dropped his pin.

I put a heart on it and chuckled. "I know, just like old times."

"None ever changed. Ima let you ko. Nite."

"Goodnight. Trust I won't forget."

I fell back on the pillows and closed my eyes.
