Baekhyun stretched and yawned as the dawn's morning light filtered through his cream blinds. He felt around in his bed, expecting to find his tall boyfriend somewhere. Upon no sign of Chanyeol, Baekhyun ruffled his hair, trying to remember the previous night's activities. His thoughts were disrupted by the ringing of his phone, John Legend's 'All Of Me' getting louder as the phone rung.
With a quick swipe of his thumb, Baekhyun picked up the number, not checking who called. "Baekhyun, where are you? You're late for work!" Baekhyun recognised Chanyeol's voice and panicked slightly. Why was he shouting at him, it's Baekhyun's first time being late in the week he's been working there. "I-I'm sorry, I'll be on my way right now." He heard an angry grunt and then the call was cut.
Baekhyun stared at his phone for a brief second before rushing out of his bed and getting ready to work. Once Baekhyun washed his face, something in his head opened up and he realised that the past week of him dating Chanyeol was all a dream.
Baekhyun was a regular guy who had graduated 3 months ago and had been working at Chanyeol's cafe for 2 months. Chanyeol was a good friend of his, but was slightly impatient when it came to work.
Shaking his head of the strange dream, Baekhyun slipped on; a white shirt, black, ripped skinny jeans, white vans and a black bomber jacket, to protect him from the autumn winds. With a final look in the mirror, Baekhyun grabbed his keys and wallet and rushed out his apartment door.

"Thanks for gracing me with your presence Baekhyun." Chanyeol sassily snapped at Baekhyun, as he cleaned the counter. "I'm so sorry Chanyeol, I just had a really weird dream. I'm really sorry." Chanyeol brushed Baekhyun off, not really minding that his friend was late. "You're working on tills today so grab your apron and come back here." Baekhyun nodded and made a swift exit to the employee's only room, to grab his apron.
"Hi, could a I get a white chocolate cappuccino and a Chanyeol on the side please?" Baekhyun looked up at the customer, shocked before sending them a smile. "Hey Taeyeon, Chanyeol's in the back, cleaning some stuff up." Taeyeon nodded her thanks before going to the back, to meet her boyfriend.
Baekhyun served a few more customers before quickly going to the employee's room to ask Chanyeol to cover for a bit, as he needed to pee. Baekhyun opened the door only to see Taeyeon pressed up to a wall as Chanyeol kissed her.
When the couple heard the door, they immediately stopped to look at Baekhyun, who's eyes were wide in astonishment. "I-I'm sorry, I just need to go to the toilet really quick." Chanyeol nodded and let go of his girlfriend, heading to the cashier.
Baekhyun walked past both members of the couple and into the toilet. Baekhyun just stared at himself in the mirror and then splashed some water onto himself. For a while now, Baekhyun had quite the crush on Kim Taeyeon. She was indeed a stunning girl and currently, one of Baekhyun's very close friends. Baekhyun dried his face and shook his head, hoping his crush would just disappear.
Baekhyun gave himself a final glance over and left the toilet, no longer feeling the need to pee.
"Sorry you walked in on that, Baek." Baekhyun just nodded, as if telling Chanyeol not to bother with an apology. Baekhyun left the counter to clear up the tables and spoke to a few of the elderly customers, that were very fond of him.
Chanyeol watched his short friend work and saw his cute smile that he showed to the table of ladies that always cooed at his small friend. Chanyeol had always admired Baekhyun's enthusiasm at work; how his smiles, hospitality and overall kindness attracted many to his small cafe.
Chanyeol was hiding a small secret from his small friend. The tall boy was aware of his friend's crush on his 'girlfriend' and Taeyeon, was also aware.
Chanyeol had been acquainted with Baekhyun in their first year of university, but only became friends in the second year. Chanyeol was close friend of Taeyeon's and introduced her to Baekhyun. Baekhyun took an immediate liking to the girl, and Taeyeon seeming liked him back.
Around four months ago, Taeyeon came up with a plan, date Chanyeol for a little bit and see if Baekhyun would do anything, if not, she'd move on.
Chanyeol wanted his best friend, Baekhyun, to finally win his crush over. Unfortunately, Baekhyun was too sweet to ever say anything to either of them, which Chanyeol sometimes found annoying.
Through their two years of being close friends, Chanyeol developed a small crush on Baekhyun, but he knew of his feelings for Taeyeon, so he never acted on his crush. Chanyeol, much like Baekhyun, cared for his friends and only wanted the best for them.
Baekhyun arrived back at the counter, dishes in hand. He carefully placed the ceramic items on the counter, going back to get more. Chanyeol took the dishes to the back and asked Taeyeon to help him wash them up.
"Tae, I think we should stop this thing. Baekhyun looked kinda upset earlier. I'm sure he'll make a move if we 'break up'. You know he's never ruin a 'relationship', especially if it involves his friends." Taeyeon nodded in understanding and declared their relationship over.
Chanyeol felt lighter, now that he wasn't hiding a secret, yet he was slightly saddened by the though that Baekhyun would now start dating Taeyeon. Nevertheless, Baekhyun was his best friend and deserved all the happiness he could have.
When closing time arrived, Chanyeol and Baekhyun washed up the cafe and got it ready for tomorrow. Friday was usually a busy day, so Minseok would be in to help the two boys as well.
"Hey Baek, I just wanted to tell you that Taeyeon and I broke up." Chanyeol continued to mop the floor as Baekhyun stared at him, jaw agape. "What do you mean broke up? Why? You guys seemed happy." Baekhyun was worried for his friend, he thought Chanyeol and Taeyeon really liked each other. "Eh... We just didn't have a connection. We're both fine though, no issues between us." Baekhyun nodded understandingly, happy that his two close friends would be okay.
"Anyway, I think we're about done here, grab your stuff and meet me by my car." Baekhyun nodded and went to the employee's room to hand up his apron and grab his jacket.
When Chanyeol locked up the cafe, he unlocked his car, allowing Baekhyun to slip into the passenger seat.
Thursday nights were movie nights, for the two males. They'd grab stuff from a grocery store, then head to Chanyeol's for the night. This tradition had been going on for over a year now, so Baekhyun had just left a bunch of stuff at Chanyeol's house, to avoid any hassle.
Once they arrived at Chanyeol's flat, both got into pyjamas and settled onto Chanyeol's soft couch, munching away as they watched one of their favourite superhero movies together to end another busy day.
