They were rushing his mom to the hospital once again.
This time his dad had taken it too far. His mom had to be hospitalized for the third time that year. And that was more than enough for Khalil to file a complaint against his father.
He had run quite a distance to get help from one of his mom's friends. Then they had to rush back to the house. The lady still needed to deal with Khalil's father.
Khalil's father, Mr Flynn, attempted to hit him but the lady, Mrs Hernandez, got in the way.
She had a blue eye from the blow which just fueled his anger.
They turned into casualty and were getting Mrs Flynn moved onto the gurney when Mr Flynn showed up in the driveway. As drunk as ever...
