Third Person POV

-------

"Can you marry my Mama?"

"I want a new Papa, please?"

Taehyung was looking for HaeMin and was shocked to hear that. He had heard her say it other times, but he thought she was joking. How could she say that to the real person?

He immediately grabbed her from Jungkook's hold and bowed his head.

"Sorry about that."

"Taehy---" Taehyung turned around before Jungkook could say anything. He took his daughter to an empty bathroom in the big mansion and sat her on the covered toilet seat. He knelt in front of her before speaking.

"Why would you say that to him?" Taehyung wasn't yelling at her or anything, but the firmness of his voice alerted her that he was upset. She lowered her head, unable to meet his eyes. She felt she was doing something right, but her Mama wasn't happy.

"I'm sorry, Mama." She apologized. She still couldn't lift her head. She hated making her Mama anyway unhappy. She liked his smile that it hurt her when it faded away. That's why.

"Don't apologize, baby. Answer me. Why did you do that?" Taehyung asked again. He disliked it when people only apologized instead of saying what their intentions were. It could have been good intentions, but only apologizing makes it seem like it was the worst thing ever.

"Be-because---" Taehyung held her shoulders still. She was shaking and looked scared. Taehyung pulled her into a hug to calm her down; rubbing her back gently and soothingly.

"Because I wanted to see you smile and be happy more." That's when the girl lost all shields preventing her from tears. Fat tears dropped down her rosy cheeks as she sniffled.

Taehyung hugged her tighter. He wanted to cry but couldn't. He couldn't breakdown in front of her, especially after she just said she wanted to see him smile more.

"It's okay," he kept whispering those words into her ears.

Eventually, HaeMin stopped crying, and they broke the hug.

"bébé, je suis heureux d'être avec toi. Je n'ai pas besoin de me marier (Baby, I'm happy to be with you. I don't need to get married)." Taehyung said.

"pas si heureux. Je veux que tu sois heureuse comme oncle Min et son mari (Not that happy. I want you to be happy like uncle Min and his husband)." HaeMin specified.

"You always looked a little sad when we went out back home. You smile sadly when you see couples. I just wanted you to be happy too."

Taehyung was lost for words. How could his 4-year-old notice such subtle things? He just smiled at her before picking her up.

"Let's wipe your face and go back," Taehyung said.

"What about dating him then?" HaeMin asked. She wasn't going to let it go.

"Uh...I don't think he'd want that."

"What? Mama... haven't you seen him looking at you with googly eyes? He likes you." HaeMin remarked. She saw Mr. Handsome sneaking glances at her Mama. Even at the party, when she was talking to him, his eyes were still wandering around.

Taehyung chuckled at her comment but still couldn't say he'd do it. "He and I aren't compatible. How about someone else?" Even though Taehyung and Jungkook separated a while ago, he still felt he wasn't ready to move on. He felt a little weird about dating someone else honestly, but he wanted to get HaeMin's mind off of him.

"You and him like each other?" HaeMin hadn't heard the word compatible yet and it slightly sounded like 'like'(in Korean). She was getting excited by the second.

"Ahh...nous ne sommes pas compatibles ou harmonieux. (We're not compatible or harmonious)" Taehyung clarified. HaeMin nodded but felt sad.

"But I liked him...he even speaks French," HaeMin mumbled.

"I just didn't want you to be sad because my real Papa isn't here." Taehyung felt sorry that he couldn't tell the poor girl that he was her real father. He told her that her father was dead and far away. He planned on telling her the truth when she got older, of course.

After wiping HaeMin's face, the pair exited the bathroom and returned to the party. HaeMin went to the backyard to play with the other children.

"Tae!" Hoseok yelled as he ran to the other. He hugged him dearly; almost squeezing him to his death.

"Hy-hyhng-" Taehyung couldn't breath well. Hoseok let go after a few seconds and patting from Taehyung.

"Where were you?! I thought you left without me. When I couldn't find HaeMin, I panicked." Hoseok was out of breath from running around the enormous NamJin mansion.

"We were just in the bathroom." Hoseok nodded and felt relieved. Then again, why would Taehyung leave without him?

Taehyung pulled Hoseok to a less crowded place; the upstairs hallway, to talk to him.

"Hyung, you know who Jungkook is right?" Taehyung began.

"Yeah, Mr. Handsome, right?"

"Yeah, but who he really is, to us?" Hoseok shook his head. He didn't know much about Taehyung's history.

"He is... HaeMin's father." Taehyung told.

To say Hoseok was extremely shocked would be an overstatement. He had some suspicions here and there but hearing it was surprising. He saw how much they resembled each other.

"I...see." that was all he said. " Does HaeMin know? Is that why she keeps saying you should marry him?"

"No. That's a different reason, but one of the reasons is that she wants a new dad."

"New?" Hoseok was confused. Why would the girl want a new dad when she never had one.

"That's the thing...I told her her father is dead and far away." Taehyung couldn't look his Hyung in the eyes. He realizes how childish he was to answer that way. He knew his Hyung would be disappointed in him.

"I see."

"Say something else, Hyung. What's with 'I see.'"

Hoseok felt he had no place to say anything to Taehyung. It was his life and his decision. He just hoped it didn't come back to bite him later.

"It's fine, Taehyung. It's your life. However, you want to handle that, do it." Taehyung sighed but understood his Hyung.

He nodded and walked back to the KitchJin to get some snacks.

"He told her Jungkook is...dead?"

"Joonie?! Did you find him?"

When editing, I always think of it with the Korean version. The word for compatible doesn't sound like 'like' in Korean, it's harmonious that does, but I didn't want to use harmonious, so I just used the synonym.

Thxs for the 1k guys.

Thxs for also reading 😘
