"Mom!" Miran yelled into the visitation phone. She was zealously livid. She could not believe her mother brought her an amateur lawyer.
"He sounded and looked like he just graduated from law school! Mom, how could you do that to me?" Miran remarked. She would have done a better job representing herself than that lawyer of hers.
"I'm sorry, but he was all I could afford that didn't know your father," Yura answered. She did all she could, but her daughter could not see that. She only saw the incompetent lawyer.
"I said, use my money!" Miran was in a rage. She had particularly told her mother to use her money, but it seems like Yura didn't get it.
"Well, your father froze your assets and took you off his will. You have no money. You are poorer than me." Yura snarkily remarked. She was tired of her daughter being a crybaby. She just wanted to rest. She had been on her feet for too long for the ungrateful child behind the screen.
"I should've spent my life taking care of my actually respectful and admirable child instead," Yura whispered, but Miran caught it.
It was the words no child should hear from their parents, but if the child pushes them enough, they will say similar words. They don't mean it, but it happens in the heat of the moment. Yura didn't hate her daughter, but she wished her daughter had lived a decent life. She partially blamed herself for it, but it wasn't all her fault. It was Miran's too.
Most decisions were made by her.
"Mom?" Miran uttered brokenhearted. The only person who was on her side had just said such words. She might be a monster, but she had emotions... somewhere.
Yura did not know what to say, so she just stood up and walked out. She had had enough for today.
