I watched from the sideline as Danny looked over the scene, he paid extra attention to Frank’s body. I felt numb as I stared at is prone body, lifeless and quit, never to reveal his secrets. Ashley was out there alone, and now her only life-line has been silenced. I try to imagine what she was going through, but the suffering I felt was just too strong to hold back. Tears silently start to fall down my cheeks, at the very real possible that she was gone to me now.

“We’ll find her.” I jumped at hearing Danny’s voice so close to me, and I blanked in surprised at his closeness. “I didn’t mean to scary you.” I tried to smile, but it was halfheartedly.

“I’m just so afraid that I can’t keep in the moment.” He placed his hand gently down on my shoulders.

“Just remember that we will find her.” I nodded forceful wiping my tears free of my face.

“Detective, we’ve found his vehicle.” Danny patted my shoulder then turned heading over to where the police office stood. I watched not really seeing what was being done, but more letting my mind wonder, hoping to control the unrelenting fear that gripped my heart. I was still focus on Danny that I quickly broke my train of thought. His eyes creased slightly and an upsetting look washed over his face.

I was still staring when his head turned catching my eyes. In his all I could see was worry, and I knew they found something bad. Part of me thought it might be Ashley, hurt or even dead, but another part of me knew that Danny wouldn’t be that cool if it was. He pointed to something in the truck and waved for them to hand it to him.

The police officer who was inside the truck held out a small box square looking thing, but for the life of me I couldn’t place it. “No, get this to the tech right away, it just maybe be the key we need.” He called out with a mixture of hope and concern. He turned and walked back over to me pulling out his keys. “I’m going to drop you off at the house, then head into the station.”

“I want to stay with you.” I called out almost pleading like, so much so that he looked down at me in concern. “You would be the first to know, so I’ll stay out of the way, I just need to know what is happening.” He held my eyes for a second then nodded.

“What is going on is that we found a GPS, it possible it could lead us to Ashley.” I nodded now understanding what the thing had been, but my eyes shifted slightly remember the way he looked before then.

“What was that thing that he showed you, it made you look serious worried?” He frowned slightly looking away, clearly hoping that I wouldn’t question him about that.

“The police office found a bill of sale for a harmful gas.” I frowned slightly confused by how this would relate to Ashley. “It the gas is released slowly in the room that Ashley is in, it would build up in her system…” He trailed off looking away with sadness and anger.

“It will kill her.” Slowly he nodded without looking at me. He seemed to be stuck in his grief, but after a second he took a deep breath and then slowly let it out. “Come on.” He said resuming his walk towards his car. I quickly fall into step with him, feeling that fear growing even stronger.
