Chapter 9 (That Winter Morning)

I could clearly listen his voice.He was saying to his mom, “Mom!! Have you taken your sweater.You know it's very cold outside.”

Mrs. Debra said, “Relax Otto.I am already done.Just take care of yourself & kids.I hope you will find a new caretaker for them so soon.Goodbye son.I’ll be here.”

Charlie suddenly opened the sliding door.

He shouted, “Falguni!!!! Are you really here! I can't believe this.”

He cried in joy & hugged me.When he hugged me my luggage slipped from my hand.

I didn't know what to do.I was confused to hug him back.

I was just putting my hands around his neck he untied his hand & hold my shoulder.

He again cried, “Thank you! thank you! Thank you!! I just don't know what to say.You came here to live with us.But why didn't you called last night?”

I was about to say why, Charlie’s Mom said, “Now Charlie I think you don't need to find another caretaker.By the way good to see you Falguni.You know,Charlie was too much worried when you didn't make a call.But now it's ok.Now I can leave in no tension.Jesus Christ bless you.”

She smiled.

Charlie asked me to go inside.

He said, “I'll be back in just hour.Actually I have to go to the airport with mom.She is heading for Rumson.”

I said, “Yeah sure no problem.I am waiting.By the way where are Henry & Cher?”

He said, “They are sleeping.” & laughed.

Then he left.

I was standing near the door.Really I came to live with him because I care about him.I care about his kids.

I just couldn't stop myself to be a part of his life.

I knew that he didn't love me like a partner but he loved me like a friend.

He trusted me & I didn't want to break his trust & his hope.

Right at 4am I woke up & finally made the decision to be here.

John’s every single word cut me deep inside.

He was right.For whom I waited 10 years , he asked for this beautiful thing.

I shouldn't have to play this lame game anymore with my life.

Finally I got my destination & my dream.As Charlie told before I have only to stay here till Henry & Cher get matured I prepared myself for that & I thought this was ending but who knew that God had other plan.

I went inside in Henry & Cher’s room.

They were deep asleep.

Though it was Sunday they were sleeping for so long.

I Went near there bed I sat on Cher’s Bed.She was looking so cute.

I caressed her hair.I looked at her & thought finally I came here.

I was about to move to Henry; Cher dragged my hand & slept hugging my hand.

I smiled & let her sleep for a while.

I slightly moved her hand.I went to Henry's bed.

He was sleeping like a joker.He was sleeping by resting his one leg on the rack.I put down his legs down on the bed & covered him.

He creeped inside the blanket mumbling, “Let me sleep Momma”.

I surprised when he said momma I thought he may thinking of his mother.I came out of the room.
