It's my first day of school and i don't really know how to feel. I'm just hoping what happened last time doesn't happen again. I'm sitting at the kitchen bench eating some leftover pizza from last night as i couldn't be bothered making something. Luke walks in with a bright smile covering his face. "Sorry the others aren't here, they got called in early."
"It's okay, you guys have important jobs." He smiles again and kisses my head taking a slice of pizza from my plate.
"You ready to go?" I nod.
"I just have to brush my teeth" I limp to the bathroom and quickly brush my teeth. After grabbing my bag we walk out to the car. I climb in being careful of my knee. Luke starts driving and i just hum along to the music.
"Hey Luke?" He hums.
"When can i stop wearing the brace?"
"i'll get Michael to check your knee later, i guess when the swelling goes down. Unfortunately you just have to deal with it now." I just nod and the rest of the drive is quiet. We arrive at the school and Luke parks. "You have got this okay. You have a phone now, text us if you need us." I nod before getting out of the car. I shut the door and slowly walk to the entrance. I get a few odd looks from the students roaming around.
I get my timetable from admin and walk around to find my first class. I spot a girl leaning against the lockers watching me and i stare back. She walks over to me and snatches my timetable from my hands. "Follow me." I awkwardly follow after her, she leads me to a classroom and holds the door open for me, i walk through and she follows after me. I sit down in a seat and she sits next to me. "Name's Laura." I smile as she hands me my timetable.
"Matilda, but you can call me Tilly." We sit in silence for a few moments.
"Sorry if i was rude, i don't really know how to talk to people."
"It's alright, i understand." We just talked and get to know each other until the class started. All of my classes were with Lauren so that was good, i got to know a few more people and I actually sat at a table at lunch so i was happy about that. Once school was finished i walked outside to see Michael. I walked to the car and got in.
"How was it?"
"Good, i made a few friends." He smiles and starts the car.
"That's amazing, the others will be so happy. How is your knee holding up?"
"A bit sore but it's not too bad."
"I'm so proud of you baby."
