8. Information gathering

             Zack's POV:
I open my eyes....and close them the same second because of the light. I get up from my bed, and then try opening them again. I look around and see S still sleeping in her bed. Guess i'm the first one up today. I feel as if i won the race...

I get up and look at the clock, 05:30am. I'm half an hour early. I prepare myself and do things, like every morning. Then i look at S's bed. I hesetate as i aprouch, and kneel in front of her bed, our faces on the same level.

She had a bad dream last night. I wander what she dreamed about. Not that i would ask her she would give me one of her anoyed looks and tell me that there are more important things at hand. I imagine her reaction as i chuckle to myself.

I quickly get up and walk to my bed. Then i hear her waking up. 'That was close!' I think and then turn to her with a smile on my face.

"Good morning, sleepy head! It's about time you woke up. It was getting kind of boring." I say, trying to look cool. She kind of looked shocked. Why-

"Did i sleep in? Ho- How are you awake before me? What time is it?" She panicked.

'Is it that unusual for me to be early?'i don't know how to feel about her reaction.

"It's 06:00am. I'm on time. You are early. Why?" She asked "Did you have a bed dream? Or are you worried about the plan? Did you sleep at all?" Her voice turning from worried to mocking. She is making fun of me.

"Ok ok i get it. I never wake up this early. But hey, there is a first time for everything." I say to her defending my sleepy self. She then gigled.

"Ok then, enjoy your victory, i guess." She says with a smile on her face. "I'm going to get ready now." She gets up and walks to bathroom. How does a person exit bed so....easily? Or am i the only one that has trouble getting up?

We go to the lab and COLOSEUM, just the usual. When we had lunch, i started thinking of what food to bring. I mean, some food has experiation date. Most of the food served here does. I'm gonna read a book about it later.

We finish up our lunch. Masha went to her little garden. She always takes care of her plants. S and I go to library. I look for books that can help me for my little problem. I found a few. Then i bring them all to the table that S was already sitting on.

She was reading her second book already? She is one fast reader. Wander what is she reading about?

I look at the title of all the books she is reading. She is reading some forest survival tips of what i could see. Why forest tho?

Nevermind. I sit on my chair and start reading my books. S lifts her head from the book she was reading and looks at me then at my books. She then gets up and goes to some far of shelf. I didn't pay much thought to it and continued reading.

She came back with a lot of books in her arms. My jaw dropped at the sight. I than snap out of it and jump up to help her. We put all the books at the table and i give her a very recogniseble questioning look.

She looks at me and then points at the books. I look at their titles and it's all books that i could use. Wow they are all just what i needed, and some of them are not about food, but realy useful.

"These are better." She says and sits on her chair to continue reading her book.

'Did she read all this?' I questioned. That is......a lot of books.

"What are you waiting for?" She asked and my look turned from books to her and then to books again.

"N-nothing. Just looking at where to start. Haha." I say, that wasn't realy a lie. I don't have any idea from where to start.

S looks at the books and takes one of them. Gives it to me. It looks like a book for beginers.

"That one is good for the start." She says and then turns back to her book. I was stunned for a second but then i sat down and started reading it. And she was right it's easy for the start and has exactly what i need.

Masha came to join us some time after. Oh, her look when she saw all the books. It was priseless. Wander if S thought that of the way i looked at them when she first brought them. I wouldn't blame her.

She sat down and S gave her some recomendations. I took note to read them later.

At the end of our free time i read 5 books. I was never this concentrated on reading in my whole life. But the order i read them, thanks to S, was realy easy to fallow and i kind of liked what i was reading. Even if it was just some basic food and survival stuff.

I looked at Masha that red only 3 books and felt proud of myself. I nodded to myself. I then turned to see if i red more than S, so i can praise myself. But what i saw put my proud self back in a mouse hole.

She read 15 books!? For this shirt time!? And those aren't some small books eather!

That is S rank for you. Never failes at anything. Well, she does spend a lot of time reading, but still not that much.

Well i guess i know where to start with food now. Water is a must. And the rest i will take as i should. Some of them i take last, just before we go. They won't last much, but we will use them as much as we can.

I also learned a lot about how to make my own food in the wild. Well it's just some knowledge from the books but i'm sure i will be able to use it practicly too.

Time to sleep. Today was a rather exosting day. I hope i would learn more about things i would need in these next few days. I couldn't have guessed that S could read that fast. Compared to her i sure am falling behind.

I think of today as i gigle to myself. S is already asleep. I should join her. Good night.
