I was hidden underneath the crusty blankets as I heard Clockwork talking to someone, I didn't hear much... just that she made a deal with the person. I'm not exactly sure what the deal was, just that it benefits the both of them.
I tried for a while to fall asleep but by the time I closed my eyes for at least a second I was awoken by the loud noises of the two people laughing downstairs.
It was probably something that had to do with me, to be honest I wouldn't really care if it was.
At this point in my life, I honestly don't give a fuck about what happens to me... it would be better if I did die than rot in this hell hole for the rest of my worthless life.It seems like the chances of getting out of here were pretty slender and it really doesn't make sense why I'm even still alive right now.
I took the covers off of my head, sat up and looked around the room.
It was too dark to see anything, just the thin outlines of objects like the desk from the light of the moon.Despite the cabin's eerie feel... this place was actually pretty cool, I guess.
At least it wasn't anything
like finding rotting body parts hidden all over the house... yet.Am I somehow less scared than from the first time I came here? Yes. Am I fully comfortable with this new life style? No.
I am still terrified to death of Clockwork and her 'welcoming' home... but like I said, I'm kinda getting used to it and all it's bullshit.
Faint footsteps could be heard and the doorknob of my room was jiggling like someone was trying to open the door.
I quickly grabbed my blanket and put it over my head while attempting to lay down at the same time.Like hiding under the covers was going to help.
Nah, it'll help. Protected me from demons for a long time when I was little.
As soon as I herd my door being swung open, I shut my eyes quickly and pretend to sleep.
My heart races as I hear heavy footsteps slowly making their way towards my bed. Before I could do anything, I felt my body unwillingly shift downwards with the mattress as I realize the person in my room is sitting on my bed right next to me.
I squeeze my eyes shut tightly as my blanket was being lifted off my head.
I could hear a faint feminine chuckle.Yep, that's Clockwork.
I could feel her breath against my ear and her short dry hair against my neck. "I'm sorry, Jamie." I could hear her whisper.
Wait... why is she sor-
I suddenly could feel her cold chapped lips on my cheek.
Nope, guess who's not dealing with this shit tonight!
I quickly but gently push her off of me.
"Woah, what are you doing?" I whisper sleepily, opening my eyes. Her face looked shocked and embarrassed. Even though it was dark I could clearly tell her pale cheeks were a crimson red.
"I... um... look, it was supposed to be a cute little thing. I'm sorry if it was too much." Clockwork shrugged her shoulders.I propped myself up on my elbows and looked at her in a confused way. "Why were you saying sorry? Better yet, was the guy downstairs eyeless Jack?" I interrogated her.
"Well, for the first question... I... feel kinda bad that you almost died tonight." She scratched the back of her head awkwardly. It was obviously a lie, but I really don't feel like pushing my luck.
"The second question... yes, that was Jack. How much did you hear of our conversation?" "You were making a deal and before you ask, no, I don't know what the deal is. Can you, I don't know, tell me?" I sat a little straighter in my bed and looked at the killer curiously.
She rolled her eye and looked down at the ground. "No. It's not important." Clockwork deadpanned. "If it's not important why can't you tell m-" "because I said so! Now can you just let. It. Go?" She folded her arms across her chest and looked at me sternly.
"Ok, ok." I put my hands up in surrender.
Nothing but complete silence waved itself upon my room for a few moments as I watched Clockwork open and close her mouth awkwardly like I fish.
"I um... know this is a weird question to ask," She started, fidgeting with her hands.
"Go on." I murmured loud enough for her to hear.
"Um, are you ok?" She asked; looking straight into my eyes.
"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" I scoffed.
"I just mean... from our talk, with the drugs and every-"
"Oh, that, yeah I'm fine. Totally fine." I looked away nervously. I could hear a small sigh escape Clockwork's lips as she gets the hint that I don't want to talk about it.
"You know..." I leaned forward."I thought drugs would help me... but really it just ruined my life. How could I be so stupid!" I laughed, scratching my chin.
"I mean, damn. If I just left drugs alone I would've still been in college.
I wouldn't have wanted to drop out cause I felt so sick all the time.
My family probably wouldn't have hated me.
I could've been normal." I rested my head in my hands laughing.
"I'm sorry if I'm rambling." I end off muttering."Heh, it's ok I guess. Usually I mutter to myself, which I admit is way more awkward." Clockwork attempted to comfort me.
We both stifled a laugh and silently smile, enjoying the silence of the moment.
Before I could say anything else, my body jolted itself forward suddenly, making me spiral into a coughing fit. I gasped for air as I couldn't stop coughing. I inhaled sharply,
finally stopping
my body from jolting forward.
I felt Clockwork's cold
rough hand on my forehead.
"Damn, you're fucking burning... stay here I'm getting some medicine." She muttered before swiftly getting up and exiting my room.Well this is amazing... I have the flu and a literal killer is taking care of me.
"Hey! I don't know which flavour you like but they only had grape so... I guess you'll be taking that."
I looked over to see Clockwork casually leaning on the door frame looking down at the bottle in her hands."Isn't that supposed to be kid medicine?" I pointed at the bottle in her hands suspiciously.
"Yeah, so?" I could hear her scoff. She walked over to me; opening the bottle.
I shuffled backwards slowly. "No! I'm not taking kid medicine! It's fucking gross, especially grape!" I hissed; receiving a laugh from Clockwork.
"Well, then I guess I'll just have to shove it down your throat."All I could say is... if anyone was roaming by the woods near that time; they probably could've mistaken my screams for a demon crawling it's way out of hell when in reality... I was just running for my life from some grape-flavoured kid medicine...
