Shit! What the hell do I do against that? John watches as the person he is fighting becomes stronger, the purple aura still there.
"Haven't you learned? The world doesn't have sympathy for weaklings like you. Lay low and mind your own business... or keep getting in others' way and get killed."
"Was that a threat?" John asks. He dodges another attack but misses the next one.
"Ugh." What? He's so fast! Just now his skin was rock solid. Increased speed and durability? John rubs his arm a dark bruise starts to form. Oh! I get it! He has a flashy powerup. But his ability is just a form of self-enhancement!
"That was just a taste of what I can do!" He says to John. "If you beg me, I'll let you leave here in one piece."
"Seriously? Your ability isn't even that good! You're just gloating because you finally found someone weaker than you." John smiles and laughs quite loudly.
"What the hell are you laughing at?"
"You of course! Beg? That's a pretty big demand. Usually, when someone talks like that, he can back it up." The two highschoolers stare each other down. Neither of them blinking. John raises his injured arm. John is the first to break the intense eye contact. "Here, let me give you some examples. So we have Remi who could burn me to a crisp. Blyke and Isen who are currently blowing up Wallik Hall. And obviously Seraphina, who is pretty much a god." John leans against the window behind him. "Okay. Your turn. What can you do? Move a little faster? Hit a little harder? Doesn't seem too threatening. In fact, I bet I could beat you without even using an ability."
"You! Shut the fuck up!" He runs toward John and raises a hand to punch John in the jaw. John ducks to the floor and grabs the other boy's arm, flipping him through the glass window. John watches as the other kid hits the ground before being rained on by shattered glass. Holy shit! John thinks with relief. That actually worked! I just about pissed myself. He rubs his arm. My arm though. It is definitely broken again. John sighs. Damn it!
