"When you first left me
I didn't know what to say
I'd never been on my own that way
Just sat by myself all day

I was so lost back then
But with a little help from my friends
I found the light in the tunnel at the end."

Lush green eyes. Beautiful brown curls. Pink lips curled in a smile. A soft woolen beanie. Beautiful fingers. A dimple. A man with these features walks towards me. He looks and feels familiar, but I can't see his face clearly. It looks distorted, as if I was looking through a fogged up window. I squint my eyes to see who it is. He suddenly stops. "Amelia.", he says in a silky smooth voice.

I close my eyes, absorbing the sound around me. The air me is chilling, and wrap my arms around myself. "Amelia?", he says again, but he sounds far away now, as if some force was pulling him away from me. I grasp the air in hopes of finding the boy, following his sound, but it's of no use. The boy is gone, as if  he never existed. I can hear myself screaming.

I wake up, startled. My t-shirt was stuck to my back, matted with sweat. I get out of bed and open my window. The sun wasn't fully out yet, and the wind slightly cooled my face.

I closed my eyes. I could still see the green eyes from my dream, shining bright. I wasn't quite awake yet, and I was also feeling uneasy. I got back in my bed and closed my eyes, trying to go back to sleep.

I shifted uncomfortably in my bed, and faced the clock on my bedside table. It read 6:28 AM. I groan. I shouldn't be waking up this early in the morning on my vacation days. Yet somehow, today I was feeling restless.

I try to fall asleep again, but it doesn't work. I ultimately decide to wake up. Might as well study. I get out of the bed, careful not to wake up the little girl next to me.

I smiled and kissed her forehead. Then I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and take a quick shower.

My phone beeps as I dry my hair with my towel. I check the screen and it has two notifications.

J ❤: Hey babe. Just landed. Be there in 45.

I smiled and replied with a thumbs up. I open the next one, suprised to see it's from Madison.

Mads 👻: Call me asap!! I have something to tell you ;)

I furrow my eyebrows. Madison never leaves me these type of cryptic messages. I was about to press call, when I hear a voice behind me.

"Mommy? Are you here?", the tiny voice says. I look behind me to see my daughter rubbing her eyes. I pick up her up and kiss her nose.

"Hi baby. How are you up so early?", I ask as I push her hair away from her eyes. She stares at me with her bright green eyes, who remind me about someone all the time. "You woke me up when you gave me a kissy.", she says and giggles.

"Sorry about that. Go on, brush your teeth, I'll make some breakfast, okay? And also, Jaden is coming soon.", I smile. She smiles brightly, and runs to the bathroom.

Her smile is the only thing that resembled my features. Other than that, she didn't even look like my daughter. With her beautiful green eyes, luscious brown curls, and pink lips, she was an exact copy of her father.

I shut my eyes. Thinking about him still pains me, even though I don't miss him anymore. It's been six years since I last saw him. I still remember the last words I said to him, and the last words he said to me.
