Ashton walked in with a big smile on his face and mouthed a 'thank you' to my grandfather. My grandfather walked past us to the door, turned around and gave us a wink. "I think I'll give you some time alone."

"So, why the hell are you here?" I asked Ashton, giving him an angry look. I saw the uncertainty in Asthon's eyes. He cleared his throat and waited for me to look at him. "I know your mother hates me, and you do probably hate me too. But please Brooklyn, listen to me." I could see the pleading in his eyes and couldn't be mad at him anymore. He hadn't done anything wrong, had he? It wasn't his fault my mother didn't like him and judges him without even knowing the real Ashton! But then again.. I didn't know the real Ashton too...

"Hey Brooklyn, can you hear me?" I woke up from my thoughts to see a concerned Ashton standing in front of me. He had bend down a bit so he was at the same height as me. "Are you okay?". I could see the worry in Ashton's eyes. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just thinking..". I answered, giving Ashton a reassuring smile. I saw a smile growing on Ashton's face before he opened his mouth.

"Where were you thinking about?"

"Nothing." I answered, looking at the ground.

"You can't think about nothing."

I groaned and looked back at Ashton. "Do you really have to be so annoying?"

"I'm not annoying, I'm just stating the truth".

I rolled my eyes and tried to change the subject. "Why are you here?"

"If you answer my question, I'll answer yours." Ashton replied, giving me a wink.

"Fine, fine. I was just thinking about you, okay?" I groan out in frustration.

"What were you thinking about me?" Ashton asked, his teasing smile was clear to see on his face.

I let out a deep sigh. "Can you please stop being annoying and just answer my question?" I begged.

"Okay, okay. Well I came to your house, to let you hear something."

I gave him the 'huh-what-do-you-mean-look' which caused Ashton to roll his eyes. "Well, I wrote you a song." I opened my mouth to say something, then closed it, opened it again and closed it.

"You look like a fish when you do that, you know.. Can I just please let you hear my song and can you please stop making this awkward for me." Ashton said.

We were still standing in the doorway and, as Ashton said, it would be really awkward if we kept standing here. I took Ashton's hand and dragged him to my room.

"Are you ready?"

I gave Ashton a reassuring nod and Ashton started singing while looking me straight into my eyes.

You're like perfection, some kind of holiday

You got me thinking that we could run away

You want I'll take you there,

You tell me when and where,

Oh oh oh oh

He had such an amazing voice to listen to. I couldn't get enough from his deep, but warm voice. And it's hard to admit it, but there was some truth behind it too. I have had some thoughts about just running away, escaping and forgetting about everybody's high expextations of me. Just me and the world.

I was a little disappointed when Ashton ended his song but couldn't stop the big smile that was appearing on my face. I took Ashton in my arms and couldn't stop hugging him. "This is the sweetest thing someone has ever done to me. Thank you so much Ashton." I whispered in his ear.

Ashton pulled back and looked me in the eyes. "Brooklyn, I don't care about your mother, father or even grandmother.. You know I'll be always there for you, don't you? If you ever need me for something or if you ever want to do something, just tell me, okay?"

Ashton took me in a hug again. I whispered something which, I thought, wasn't audible. But Ashton's expression told me otherwise...
