Nate had been...sad lately but a strange type of sad. Like the type of sad that you just can't shake, no matter how many hugs and kisses you get. You're still sad.
Matt needless to say was worried for his fiancé. He knew Nate would get like this sometimes but Matt was always able to pull him out of his head but these past few days it just seems, like Nate's disengaged himself somehow.
Matt sighs as he finishes recording, tonight was the night he was gonna get Nate out.
He quietly walked into their room, where Nate was in bed. He only left to shower in the mornings. He needed to do one thing a day to make himself feel something.
Their room was clean as always (Matt insisted on keeping it that way) but it seemed so dim without Nate's usual light.
Nate didn't turn when Matt came into the room, in fact he did nothing. Some may think he would be asleep, but no Nate probably hasn't slept in days.
Matt slipped into the bed behind Nate, and wrapped his arms around nates waist.
"Baby." Matt whispered. Nate hummed in response.
"How bout we go for a drive, get you out of the house, a nice change of pace. It may make you feel better.""I...don't think so matt. I'm sorry. I don't think I can." Nate whispered in response.
"I don't want to push you Nate but I think it will be good for you." Matt persuades. Nate shuffles and turns around in Matt's arms. Matt studied his face. His skin was pale and lifeless, eyes that stared dull and tired with bags underneath them. But yet he still looks so beautiful.
"...fine." Nate decides. Matt was overjoyed. He kissed Nate before pulling both of them up, steadying Nate as he was dizzy from lack of sleep and movement. They got their shoes on and made their way to their car in the Parkin g garage of their apartment. And they drove, and drove, and drove down the highway surrounded by trees. Matt knew where he was going even if Nate didn't.
Soon Matt pulled up onto an overlook over the city. It was the place where Nate took Matt on their first date. Matt smirked at Nate before getting out of the car, Nate following suit, and sitting in the hood.
It was silent for a moment. A nice silent in a beautiful place. Nate leaned his head on Matt's shoulder as Matt wrapped his arm around nates waist pulling him impossibly closer.
"What's been going on baby." Matt whispered into Nate's hair, leaving a kiss.
"I'm not worth it." Nate whispered.
"What are you talking about? of course your worth it."
"No I'm not I don't deserve you, i don't deserve anyone. I'm not worth your time and effort." Nate sighs.
"Baby you deserve so much more than me. I'm lucky to have you and spend time with you. I wouldn't have proposed to you if I didn't think that you were worth it." Matt tilted Nate's head up to meet his eyes. "I love you so much."
"I love you too. Thank you." Nate smiles, genuinely smiles, and kisses Matt.
"Feeling better?"
"Yeah."
They stay in this peaceful state for a couple of hours, just talking and laughing like it was their first date all over again. By the time they got home it was 6 am and both of them needed sleep.
