See it was very confusing to Mark because he never ever heard anyone call Nate this. No one except for Matt. Mark has known Nate for 4 years. that's 2 years longer than Matt.
It all started at the lunch table at school about maybe 3 weeks ago.
Matt had a arm around Nate's waist as they sat, laughing with the rest of their friend group before Nate got up to use the bathroom.
"Where are you going, puppy?" Matt asked low enough for only Nate to hear and also mark who was sitting right next to Nate.
"Just to the bathroom." Nate responded softly. Matt nodded as Nate left.
Mark decided not to bring it up at that moment in time because maybe it was just a one time thing.
He was very wrong.
It seemed like now a days that was the only thing that Matt called Nate 'puppy'. Which he was ok with but why puppy? Wasn't kitten like a more couply thing? Come to think of it, however, Nate really doesn't like kittens.
Anyways, it seemed like Matt's only name for Nate was puppy. Maybe Nate just wanted to be called puppy. Mark would oblige.
Incoming call from Nateroo
What's up Nate
Wanna come hang out with me and Matt and play video games?
Sure
Great I'll see you in a few
Alright cya soon Puppy.
-end call-
Now Nate was confused. Did mark really just call him puppy? How did mark know that Matt called him puppy and why did he think he could call him puppy?
"What's the matter, puppy?" Matt whispered into Nate's ear from where he was hugging Nate from behind.
"Mark ju- you know what its to early for this shit." Nate groaned.
"Babe it's like 9 in the afternoon." Matt jokes, getting a heavy eye roll from Nate. "Hey that was good!"
"Ok, ok I'll give it to you." Nate laughed.
Mark let himself into the couples apartment about 30 minutes later , they gave him a key a long time ago, and flopped down on the couch with his head on Nate's lap.
"Well hello there mark, nice to see you." Nate rolled his eyes and played with marks hair.
"Nice to see you too, where's Matt?"
"Bathroom."
"Ah. What're we playing puppy?" Mark asked, causing Nate to stop and stare straight into marks eyes. They sat in silence as they heard Matt's rushed feet down the hall.
"What did you just call Nate?" Matt panted as he turned the corner.
"Puppy I thought that's what people called him now." Mark reasoned, sitting up and looking between the couple.
"No one calls (me/Nate) puppy except for (me/Matt)." Matt and Nate both say.
"Oh. Ok well then, what does Nate call you, Matt?" Matt looked toward Nate who was making a bunch of gestures to indicate to not tell him. Matt smirked.
"Daddy."
