AhSi let out a soft sigh.

It is late. The bed beneath him is starting to get warm but the usual comfort he harbors in his marriage bed seems to be missing. It is one of those nights. Nigths when he thinks of his mother and how a simple visitation scares him like a little boy. If not for his wife's persistence, he would rather not see 'her' for a very long time.

"AhSi..."

His wife.

"Hey," He smiled sweetly and rolled on his side to face his wife. Her eyes are half-opened.

Shancai made a slow blink and reached for her husband's hand. "Why can't you sleep?"

AhSi smirked. "I did. Just woke up."

She raised an eyebrow. She had been married for the guy for almost five years and was quite proficient in knowing his lies.

Even the white ones.

AhSi widened his smile, wishing to satisfy his concern wife. He does not feel like sharing his worries at the moment.

Shancai tsk'd and crawled closer to borrowed deep in her husband's chest.

AhSi willingly let his wife and lied on his back once again, freeing her hand, quickly moving his right arm, surrounding her tiny waist.

Shancai listened to AhSi's familiar heartbeat and tried to find comfort on its sound.

Dao Ming Si was never a quiet man. He could even be called talkative at times. She would not lie that there were times before their marriage that she found his mouth quite irritating. His vibrant youth fueled his energy to comment and complain on almost everything. But now, after years of happy marriage, her husband could be too quiet.

She never liked those moments but tolerated it. Her husband has a brilliant mind. If the silence helps his calm, then so be it.

AhSi shifted a bit, tightening his hold on his wife, wanting to feel the same cozy feeling her body's closeness provides. Closing his eyes, he wanted to push his negative thoughts and just drown in her warmth.

"Dao Ming Si."

He smiled. "You haven't called me that for awhile. I like it."

Shancai pushed herself off of his chest and sat on the bed, pinning him under her analyzing gaze.
