Words could simply not describe how stupid Marcus felt for going over there to meet Lucia.
What was he thinking??? Lucia was onto
something and there was this strong feeling
in him that told him the quick kiss Lucia
had planted on his lips was simply uncalled for, and had definitely been captured by some cameras.
Salone's birthday was the following day and he didn't want anything to spoil it.
Silently, he walked to Jesse's, engrossed in his thoughts, hoping that Lucia wouldn't
mess things up for him and his girl, and for once in his life, he'd like to have a benefit of doubt that there were no cameras at the meeting of both him and lucia. When he got to jesse's, he told him everything that happened.
He assured him things would be alright, but got mad at him for not telling him where he went."If I had gone with you Marcus, none of that would have happened." He hesitated at Marcus.
"I know but I had no idea she was going to
go too far. She was crying when I saw her and she really really looked bad."" But it's not your problem anymore. Lucia, is a bad person and was a bad girlfriend to you.
Now, she just wants to see you and Salone part ways so both of you can get even. Cheer up bud, wanna go grab a bite? I'm really starving."
Marcus is too busy thinking to talk so he nods and follows jesse out of the house.*
Her day was certainly terrible, and to top it off, her internship boss was making passes at her and using the dolphin talk to cover it up. Marcus had not even called her through out the day and it was very unusual of him to do so.Maybe he was tired or his phone died, she thought to herself.
Just then, Heather came knocking on her door."Come in." She responded, looking at Heather with a face that looked like she needed someone to talk to.
"Salone, are you alright? You look sad."
"I guess I am sad,. You know I don't think he even remembers it's tomorrow." She replied, letting out a long sigh.
"Relax, I'm sure he does. Just get some sleep okay?"
"Ofcourse. How are you and Jesse? Are you good?"
"Super good. I really like him. I'll tell you more tomorrow, after you get some rest."
Salone nodded at her friend as she watched her leave the room. She fell asleep thinking of Marcus, and wondering why he didn't contact her through out the day.
*Salone's POVWhen morning came, I couldn't believe my room was full of flowers. I saw a box that resembled a gift and I opened it and saw a make up kit with a note from Heather.
~Happy birthday to my fav girl, I got you this cause you definitely need one. I love you ya know, ~:Heather.
After I read it, I smile and meet her making pancakes in the kitchen, then she greeted me with a warm hug.
"Happy birthday Salone." She said once more, smiling excitedly.
"Thank you soo much. Are the flowers from you as well?"
" Oh no, your boyfriend's been sending them all morning and more keep coming!"
"Really?" I asked surprisingly. Marcus never seemed to look like the kind of boyfriend that would send flowers to anyone. But for him to do this then he was definitely full of surprises.
I sat with Heather and she said I had no idea what was planned out for me, that she couldn't wait to see the look on my face when I discover everything. We talked some more while eating, then I went over to my phone and met a heap load of messages.
Few from Marcus, and tons of missed calls from him. I was asleep when he called, and I didn't even know. First I got a call from my dad, and then my mum and literally all of my family members. Included my half cousin from Philippines. While I was sitting, I suddenly realised that I was running late for my internship programme.
All I hoped for, was for a successful 20th birthday and nothing more.
I didn't even have time to dress properly.
I let my her hair fall to my shoulders, and I put on a white free dress.
Heather didn't want me going anywhere since it was my birthday but I insisted and claimed it didn't matter.
The internship was worth half of my grade and I had to be there no matter what. I didn't want to see Zachary north my internship boss again., but I didn't have a choice.
