"Nurse Nancy to room 301," announced a women over the loudspeaker. I walked close behind Kim focusing on the click clack of her heels on the tile floor. When we reached the receptionists desk Kim knocked on the window. A blond woman who looked to be about 30 looked up.
"Hi how may I help you?" She asked Kim.
"Hello," Kim responded and then leaned over and whispered something to the women. The women nodded at Kim with a sorry look in her eyes and then spoke up.
"Room 427 just down the hall," she said and pointed down the hall to the right.
Kim grabbed my arm and started to run down the hall dragging me behind her. I shook free of her grasp and sprinted ahead of her to room 427. When I reached it I stopped outside the door afraid of what awaited inside. A few seconds later Kim caught up to me and gently placed her hand on my arm.
Before we entered the room she turned to me with her tear stained cheeks and said two words.
"I'm sorry,"
