It is 10 o'clock at night when my phone beeps and the screen lights up. I look down to see who is texting me and see the name Brandon. He has texted me saying,
"How are you?"
"Good," I reply. "Wbu?"
"Fine, I'm doing algebra,😠"
"Sorry lol,"
We text back and forth like this making small talk for a few minutes before Brandon says what I was dreading him to say.
"How was your first dinner without ur dad?"
I sigh and lie down on my bed. The truth is it was horrible and I just wanted to get out of there, but instead I respond with,
"Fine I missed him though,"
The reply comes quick and puts a big smile on my face.
"I wish I could give u a big hug😘"
"Me too😊" I wrote back blushing a little. Just then there was a knock on the door. I looked up and saw Kim coming in. She slowly walks over to my bed and sits down. As she opens her mouth to speak a text comes in and my phone buzzes.
"Is that Brandon?" Kim asks.
"Yeah," I reply. "He wants to know if I can go over, can I?"
"Yes yes of course you can," Kim says. "I was just telling you I'm gonna head to bed early, so goodnight," she finishes and gives me a kiss on the forehead before leaving my room.
I quickly text Brandon back and then I get ready to go.
