A One Night Stand

Part 14 : Have you seen Stella

Stella was in pain, her breathing was irregular. As a paramedic she knew that what she was feeling could only be the worse case scenario.

Instantly Severide grabbed the one hand she was grabbing his arm with.

"How can help you babe? Tell me" he said worried.

Capp and Tony finally were able to get the man to leave, but now Stella was the worry. Severide was feeling helpless, Otis went to grab Gabby and Brett and they brought Stella to MED.

Kelly was shaky the whole way, they learned about the pregnancy only a week ago and he was really excited about this new journey that would be starting but apparently it was just a short dream.

Meanwhile Otis went to the Chief to tell him about everything that went down.

"Yes Otis what can I do for you?"

"Well I just wanted to inform you on the latest, this man came and had a fight with Severide. Long story short we managed to get him to leave but I don't know if Stella got hit by him when she tried to put herself between the two but now she's in the hospital" he explained.

"Why didn't anyone come and get me" he said firm.

"Everything happened so suddenly Chief"

"Still when something like that happens you tell me, how could the lieutenant fight like this"

"To be fair he was just defending himself, apparently this man's daughter died and he blamed Severide for it" he explained.

"I don't care what were the reasons-" but as he was about to continue with his voice filling the entire room he let out a sigh and asked "what about Stella? What happened to her?"

"She said something about a baby, so we don't really know"

"We should go over there and show our support"

Chief took his radio and they instantly left with the whole firehouse. Sure Stella didn't get injured on a call but it was still a serious matter.

At MED Kelly was waiting anxious to see what they would tell him about Stella. And just the worry on his face, Gabby couldn't help but ask.

"We all care about Stella but I mean you look very concerned Kelly!"

"She's pregnant!" That's all he felt like saying.

"Who is she seeing I don-" but she stopped as soon as she understood "you two are together?"

"Yes but we didn't want the whole firehouse until we were ready and-"

But he couldn't keep his sentence going once he saw Natalie come to them.

"So tell me"

"Well I fear not to have great news, unfortunately as she feared Stella had a miscarriage. She underwent a procedure to make sure everything was removed from her body. She'll be in pain for the next couple of days so no going back on the job, other than that you can go see her now"

"Thank you Natalie!" He said as he grabbed her hand tightly.

"Of course".

Natalie then left, Gabby was left with little information so when the whole firehouse showed up she had to explain as best as she could with what she had.

"Gabriella!" She heard the Chief deep voice.

She turned to everybody, who had a look of worry on their faces. And so she tried explaining.

"So Stella is going to be fine, at least i hope so. But she actually had a miscarriage, she lost her little baby so she'll need our full support. And so will Severide, because it hits them both"
