A One Night Stand

Part 18 : Dad

Stella's body was unable to move and it's like you could cut the tension with a knife. Everyone had their eyes fixed on that elder man.

And once that man saw Stella, he got closer to her and touched her arm.

"Hey baby girl could we talk".

But Stella's face transformed from fear to anger, her eyes were watery. Everyone was observing and Kelly was by her side ready to do anything.

"Let go of my arm" she said firmly.

And so he did.

"Please baby girl, can we talk? I really miss you" he asked once again hoping she would allow him to talk to her.

"I have nothing else to tell you Robert, i think you said and did enough to me already. Leave"

"But Stella, i'm your dad. I deserve at least a talk" he insisted.

"Leave" she screamed "you don't deserve anything from me"

Stella was shaky and those tears of anger escaped. Kelly didn't want to interfere but knowing her dad wasn't the best and seeing how Stella was, he had to.

"Look man you better leave before i make you leave, she doesn't want you here" he said as he stood up in between the two.

Severide had this look on his face, and so Robert didn't insist more and left. Stella was still super shaky and not feeling well. But Cruz grabbed her and sat her down.

She was not the only female in the firehouse but yet the only female firefighter and even if the guys loved to joke, when it was for matters important they were always there like family. Cruz got on his knees to be able to see her better and calm her down.

"Look he is not worth of you being so angry calm down" he rubbed her arm.

And every single one of the guys were saying stuff to her in order to calm her down. Brett went and grabbed some water for her.

"Here Stella!" She gave it to her.

She drank all of it, and was feeling much better. Kelly was making sure Robert was leaving for real and so he got to his car with him and watched him leave. But before that Robert tried to talk to him.

"Look Stella is my daughter could you maybe convince her, i mean you work with her you know her right?"

"I do more than working with her, I love Stella with all of my heart that's why i'm not going to let you come and ruin her life. Bye and i better not see you here again".

Robert looked at Kelly and didn't dare to say anything else. He then left, yet no entirely scared off. He didn't want to let it go that easily, he had to talk with Stella no matter what.

Kelly got back to the firehouse, and saw how everyone was around Stella. So he got to her.

"Are you okay baby?" He asked

"Yes" she said as she got up but quickly got dizzy.

"That doesn't look like it"

*Call coming in* "Squad 3! Accident"

"Damn it, Gabby and Brett can you make sure she's good please"

"Yes go"

Severide geared up and left, of course he was worried for Stella but he knew that with everyone around she would be good. As promised Gabby and Brett forced Stella to let them check her out, and in a little while she was way better.

As the shift went by, she couldn't help but feel stressed thankfully whenever a call came in all that would go away and leave some space for her to breath. It wasn't all about her, she was scared for Diego and didn't want for her son to know about this man.

Their 24 hours shift was done, it was night and they were now home with Diego watching a movie when Stella realized she had left her phone in the car and so she got out to get it.
