It's been a few days since I met Shawn at the cafe and we've been texting each other non-stop. Even though we've been texting I really want to meet up with him again, I would ask him, but I just don't know how to approach the situation. The reason I don't know how to ask if Shawn wants to meet up again is because I've never been in a proper relationship before, so I don't really know what to do or what to say.
Anyway, whilst I've been talking to Shawn I've learnt a lot more about him. He's told me about his family, his mum Karen, his dad Manny and his younger sister Aaliyah. We've spoken about our friends and what we like to do for fun, he likes to play the guitar, piano and sing. One thing that we haven't talked about is what he does for a job, he knows I'm in school and that I work at my local shop, but I don't know what he does for a living. It doesn't bother me that he hasn't shared that with me, however it would be nice to know eventually.
I look down at my phone when I feel it buzz in my hand, when I look at it, a smile immediately appears on my face when I see a text from Shawn.
Shawn : good morning hunny
You : good morning love, how'd you sleep?
Shawn : I slept good, how about you hun?
You : yeah it was okay, I didn't get much sleep because I'm stressing about school but yeah
Shawn : do you wanna meet up to take your mind off of it?
My heart starts racing when I see that text because it's what I really wanted and I feel like I need to see him because he can make me forget about whatever is bothering me. It's as if he knows exactly the right things to say to make someone feel better and I really admire that about him.
You : yeah I'd love to meet up. Where do you wanna go?
Shawn : I was thinking I could come to yours or you could come to mine and we could have a movie day?You : yeah that sounds great, send me your address and I'll come over soon
Shawn : okay *sends address*. I'll see you soon
You : see you soon
As soon as I send that last text, I get up off my couch and head to my bedroom to change. Since he said we'd be having a movie day, I decided to put on a hoodie and a pair of sweats, I'd rather be comfy than feel a pair of jeans digging into my stomach all day. After I get changed I head to my bathroom to do my business and brush my teeth. After I've finished in the bathroom, I go into the kitchen and leave a note for my parents to tell them where I'm going. I then head to my hall and put on my shoes and grab my coat and my keys before heading out the door and down to my car.
It doesn't take me long to get to Shawn's condo, in fact he only lives 10 minutes away from me. Once I arrive at Shawn's apartment block, I send him a text to let him know I'm here, so he can come down and let me in, because he said that someone in his building needs serious security so they don't let people they don't recognise in if they are on their own. Once Shawn comes down to meet me, we say our hello's before we get into the elevator to go up to his floor. Once we get into his condo, I take off my shoes and leave them by the door, whilst Shawn takes my coat and puts it in the cupboard.
"So what movies did you have in mind" I ask, already knowing what he's going to say.
"The Harry Potters of course" he replies with a smile, as soon as he says this I think to myself that this kid is crazy obsessed with Harry Potter.
I sit down on Shawn's white sectional, which by the way as soon as you sit on it, it's as if it eats your whole body, whilst Shawn puts on the first Harry Potter movie. After he gets the movie up on the screen he goes to a cupboard on the opposite side of the room and gets out a blanket. He hands me the blanket before asking if I'd like a drink, I ask him for a cup of tea. He comes back with two cups of tea and sets them down on the coffee tables in front of us, before sitting down, getting under the blanket and starting the movie.
During the movie I notice how close me and Shawn are sat, his arm is resting on the back of the sofa behind me, whilst our legs are touching. I don't think much of it until Shawn changes his position, as he does this he moves me with him by using his arm that's on the back of the sofa, this now means I'm cuddled into his side. The truth is that I really don't mind, I feel comfortable around Shawn and I really like him, so I don't mind that I'm nestled into his side whilst watching Harry Potter.
We are on the 4th Harry Potter movie, and Shawn realises that neither of us have eaten since this morning before I arrived at his condo. Shawn moves to grab the remote to pause the movie so he could talk to you.
"Y/N do you want to order some food? It's been a while since we've both eaten" when Shawn said this it made me realise how hungry I actually am.
"Yeah sure, what do you wanna order?" I reply, feeling my stomach rumble at the thought of food. Shawn and I both look down at my stomach and the two of us let out a laugh.
"I think someone's hungry" Shawn says before saying "I know this place that does amazing pizzas and they deliver. So how does pizza sound?"
"Pizza sounds great, and before you ask I'm fine with any toppings unless it's fish" once I say that Shawn just looks at me with a smile whilst shaking his head. Shawn grabs his phone and orders the pizzas before the two of us return to the position we were in, and start watching the movie again.
When the pizza arrived Shawn got up to get it, leaving me on the couch. Once Shawn sets the pizzas on the coffee table in front of us and sits down, I ask him "how much do I owe you?" He replies with "nothing it's on me." I really didn't want to let him pay but I could tell that he's ready to fight me on it, so I decide to leave it this time. "Okay, thank you" I say with a smile on my face. Shawn smiles back at me before sitting back in his seat to watch the rest of the movie whilst eating his pizza.
Once both of us have eaten enough of our pizzas, I end up cuddled into Shawn's side once again, but as I said before, I really don't mind at all. At some point during the 6th movie, I felt my eyes getting tired and I cuddled closer to Shawn. He noticed this and starts playing with my hair, this makes my eyes feel even heavier, and it's not long before I've fallen asleep cuddled into his side. Shawn notices that you've fallen asleep and takes this time to look at you. In that moment he realises how much you mean to him. It blows his mind how much you mean to him after all, you only met each other 4 days ago. There's just one thing he needs to tell you, but he's afraid it might change where things are headed.
