YOUR POV

The next morning I wake up forgetting that I fell asleep next to Shawn on his couch. In my half asleep state, I momentarily forget where I am and why Shawn's arms are wrapped around my waist loosely. I look around the room, still quite confused as to why I am still in Shawn's condo, that is until my eyes fall upon the boxes of leftover pizzas and I remember that I fell asleep at some point during the 6th Harry Potter. I also remember, that before I fell asleep Shawn started playing with my hair after I snuggled closer to him.

Whilst I was lost in my thoughts about last night, Shawn started to stir in his sleep. I knew he had woken up when he let out a heavy sigh and tightened his grip around my middle.

"good morning" I say whilst combing my hand through his hair.

"mm...good morning hun" he hums as you play with his hair "my neck is killing me, this always happens when I sleep on the couch." Shawn says whilst cracking his neck.

"it's only because you're a freaking giraffe, so when you sit on the couch your neck is nowhere near the top of couch cushions" I say trying to stop myself from laughing. Shawn stares at me whilst shaking his head before the two of us burst out in laughter.

After the two of us have stopped laughing Shawn's stomach makes a loud rumbling noise. "let's go get some breakfast yeah?" Shawn says.

"sure, as long as I can pay for yours and mine" I reply, the smile evident on my face when I see him shake his head. "come on, I'm not having you pay for my food again, and in return I want to pay for yours too."

"why do I feel as if you're not going to give up until I say you can pay for my food?" Shawn muttered.

"you feel like that because it's the truth. I am not giving up until you say I can pay for breakfast." I tell him truthfully. He just looks at me momentarily, with an unimpressed expression on his face before he nods his head and mumbles a quiet "fine", only just loud enough for me to hear. After I do a mini celebratory dance, the two of us put on our shoes and coats, Shawn then grabs his keys before the two of us leave to go get breakfast.

I am in sitting in the passenger's seat of Shawn's Jeep, listening to some John Mayer, because we both love him and his music, I start to focus on Shawn's voice. I mean, I knew he liked to sing, but I didn't know he sounded like that.

"wow, I didn't know you could sing so well, Shawn." I state. Shawn quickly glances at me before focusing back on the road. I notice a slight rosy tint to his cheeks. "thanks Y/N, really" Shawn's eyes flick between me and the road as he talks.

"so where are we going to eat?" I ask realising that I didn't actually know where we are going to get breakfast.

"you'll have to wait and see" Shawn says smugly. I roll my eyes at him before focusing on the road in front of me. I knew it was no use trying to get the answer from Shawn because we are both as stubborn as each other.

It only takes two more John Mayer songs before Shawn parks the Jeep in front of a cafe. The same cafe that we met in only 5 days ago. Shawn looks over at me and sees the huge smile on my face grow as I realise where we are.

We get out of the car and walk to the cafe. Once we get into the cafe, we go and sit at the same table that we sat at the first time we met.

"do you want a menu?" Shawn asks with a menu in his hand.

"no thanks I already know what I want" I say and Shawn looks at me with a questioning look. "I come here a lot, so I know what I want" I say with a smile.

"I forget that you've been here a lot more then I have" it's now my turn to give Shawn the questioning look. "I told you when we met that I only came in here because I saw that beautiful girl sat at this very table." Shawn said with a smile evident on his face. I remember him saying that, but I didn't know that it was one of the only times he'd ever come in here.

"Well if I were you I'd come here a lot more often because the food is great and also sometimes tall, cute brunettes come in." I say with an obvious smile on my face. Shawn looks up at me from his menu and flashes me a smile.

I walk over to the counter to order mine and Shawn's food. We both decided on pancakes with banana, strawberries and maple syrup. After I pay for our food, I head back to the table and when I get there Shawn is consumed by something on his phone. He looks up once he notices that I'm back and says "Sorry, it was work."

"It's okay, don't worry about it." I say because I understand that work needs to talk to you about stuff sometimes. "If you don't mind me asking, what do you do for work?" as soon as the words leave my mouth I can tell that Shawn's body tenses up.

"umm...I...If I tell you, can you promise me that it won't change things?" Shawn says, and if I'm honest I'm a tad confused when he asks this, but I'm sure it's nothing bad, right?

"As long as you're not an assassin or something like that, I'm sure it won't change anything." I say, still a bit confused.

"No I'm not an assassin or anything like that." Shawn says with a chuckle. "um...So you know when I said I sing and play the guitar and piano?" he stops and looks up from his hands, I nod, not saying anything so he can carry on. "um...Well I sort of sing for a living." When he said this, it didn't surprise me, I mean of course it wasn't really what I was expecting him to say, but after hearing him sing in the car it kind of makes sense.

"wow, that's really cool. Do you have any songs that I might know?" I ask genuinely wanting to know if he has any popular songs.

"um...have you heard the song 'Stitches'? That was one of my first songs to make it mainstream." As soon as he says the song title I rake my brain because the name sounds familiar but I cannot think about how the song goes.

"I've heard the name before, probably on the radio but I cannot think of how it goes for the life of me." I say really trying to hear the song in my head, but it doesn't seem to be working.

"Maybe you've heard this one on the radio more recently, it's called 'In My Blood'." Once again I recognise the name, but this time the lyrics of the song come flowing into my mind. I'm shocked that the guy in front of me wrote those heart hitting lyrics. I stand up and he does the same. I stood up to give him a hug. At first Shawn seems a bit hesitant, but then relaxes and hugs me back. When we pull away and sit back down, Shawn looks at me and says "what was that for?"

"the lyrics to that song are just so personal and I'm sure that that song will have helped so many people, so I wanted to give you a hug." I tell him honestly. I mean every word that I just said because that song is all about getting over that feeling of anxiety and not wanting to give up anymore and I have a feeling that it has helped so many people that have felt that way.

"I guess you could say that it has because so many fans have tweeted me or have told me in a Q&A that my music has helped them get through some tough times in their lives, and I wish I could find a way to show each and every one of them how much they have also helped me." he says letting out a sigh, I have a feeling that he wasn't finished yet so I stayed quiet. "But it's not that easy to show each and every one of my fans how much they mean to me." he says seeming a bit upset, so I take his hand in mine before saying "Shawn, one of the best ways for you to show your fans how much you care and how much they mean to you, is to keep doing what you're doing."

After our chat, our food arrives and we dig in immediately because we are both starving. Once we have finished our food and Shawn has finished his coffee and I have finished my tea, I ask Shawn if he can take me back to my apartment so I can change into some clean clothes before going and spending the rest of the day with Shawn.
