SHAWNS POV
I made my way back up to my condo after saying goodbye to Y/N in the parking garage. Spending time with Y/N has made me feel like I'm not the well known singer Shawn Mendes, I'm just Shawn when I'm with her. It sounds stupid to say that but I really do mean it. I feel different when I'm with her, a good kind of different.I've enjoyed the last couple of days with Y/N, it's nice to go out and not be focusing on the new album and the tour and all that work stuff. As much as I love my job, it can be stressful sometimes because I never want to let anyone down, sometimes I just can't meet the deadline for a specific song because it's just not right, and maybe to anyone else that song might sound great, but to me it's not telling the right story.
Speaking of songs, the song I came up with when Y/N was in the shower had been stuck in my head the whole day. I head over to my piano in my home studio, and start playing the melody again. I've set up my phone so it's recording what I'm playing, so I can send it to Andrew when I've finished, because I really think this song should be on the album, even though it's not finished yet.

I've finished the first demo of the song, I think I'm going to call it 'Nervous', because it's about how when I'm around this one girl, I get nervous and can't think straight around her and I feel like I'm in a different world when I'm with her. I send the demo off to Andrew to get his opinion on it. Hopefully, we'll be in the studio with it next week because I really want to get this song finished so it can go on the album and then it should all be ready.
The thing is, I already have 14 songs ready for the album, but I really feel like this song will work a lot better with some of the others on there. I also think it will flow better if this song is on there, because it kind of starts the story of how you first feel when you meet someone for the first time and you have that instant connection with them.

I had a long ass phone call with Andrew about how he thinks management might think it's too late to add the song to the album, but he's going to see what he can do. He also asked why I'm pushing for this song to be added to the album so much. So, I told him that I met a beautiful, sweet and kind girl named Y/N and we've hit it off. I told him how we had spent the past few days together and how I really like her.
After the call, I see that I have a text from Brian.
Brian: Shawn, where have you been man. Haven't heard from you in a couple days.
Shawn: Sorry about that Bri, I was hanging with Y/N all day yesterday and most of today and then I was caught up in writing a song.
I had told Brian about Y/N when I got home after we had met. He told me I reminded him of a love sick puppy, but I didn't care.
Brian: Ahhh Y/N. How are things going with her anyway?
Shawn: Well, we text everyday and then we met up for the first time after meeting yesterday and she ended up staying the night and then we went to the cafe for breakfast, before going to St. James Park and doing yoga and just walking around for like an hour, but then she had to go to work so I drove her back to get her car and yeah.
Brian: Damn dude, she spent the night, and she got you, YOU the least flexible guy on this planet doing yoga, you really like her then.
Shawn: I was so bad at it man, she found it funny tho and yeah I do like her, remember that song I said I was writing, well you'll never guys who that's about lol
Brian: Bloody hell man, already writing a song for her, damn
As I go to type a reply to Brian, I hear a knock at my door. I text Brian back and tell him that someones at the door so he doesn't think I'm ignoring him. I haven't got a clue who would be knocking on my door at 8pm.
