"hey will, you there?" Mike nervously said. He quickly puts down his supercom and sighed.

"it's three am, why are you here?" El's voice in the other side, with her classic sarcastic tone Mike taught her.

"EL OH HI" Mike's eyes went wide open to hear her voice.

"why were you searching for will?" Mike went silent. Is this even her normal behavior? He thought.

"I tried to call you but you weren't there" he nervously said. El rolled her eyes, but smiled after.

"well, now I'm here. And I miss you already" Mike giggled with her. Then a silence went in. What happened to them? They thought.

"Mike, I met this guy earlier this morning" El said nervously hugging her pillow tight.

"WHAT? WHO? WHAT WAS HE DOING?" Mike went worried, and shocked of course.

"he's our neighbor Mike, jeez" she smiled.

"I bet El has a crush on him" Will bursts in the door and laughed.

"what?" Mike said softly, while El hits him with the pillow she was holding.

"I don't have any feelings for him okay? Will's lying" Will laughed harder.

"then maybe Jake's the one who has a crush on El" Will laughed harder and El's eyes went wide.

"WILL!" she screamed. Mike was confused and disappointed at the same time. He turned his supercom off and rubs his eyes.

-later that day-

"who the hell is Jake?" Lucas sat on the couch in Mike's basement.

"EXACTLY! WILL SAID IT'S THEIR NEW NEIGHBOR" Mike said firously, messing up his hair.

"maybe Will was pranking you" Max calmly said.

"NO WILL'S NOT LIKE THAT MAX" Mike half screamed saying. He sat down and puts his hands covering his face. Suddenly Mike's phone rings. They all looked at each other and Mike picked it up.

"who is this?" Mike said, nervous.

"will byers" Will casually said. Mike looked at his friends and mouthed the other boys name and Max holds her laugh.

"oh uh hi Will" Mike tried to calm down.

"hey Mike, we were spying on you and um" Mike gasped and Will just sat there scared if he would get mad at him.

"WHAT- WHY? I DIDN'T EVEN SAY ANYTHING IMPORTANT!" Mike stuttered. He closed his eyes, worried if they find out what he's been thinking about.

"look, I'm not pranking you, okay? Jake's real and, I don't know if he likes El or not" Will bites his lips, resting his head on the pillow.

"good then" Mike let out a relief sigh.

"but, El..." Mike's eyes went wide when he heard that little sentence.

"she's hanging out with Jake, as a..." Will sighed.

"as friends" Will quickly said, scared of letting his best friend, or so called crush down.

"oh, yeah cool" Mike rests his head on the wall. Lucas looked at him and knows that him, and the others had to go.

"hey Mike, we're gonna' go" Lucas taps on Mike's shoulder and went upstairs with Max and Dustin.

"Mike?" Will said to the phone. Mike was stuttering, he knew will was lying. And he knew, El liked someone else.

"y-yeah?" Mike stuttered.

"El is here, you wanna' talk to her?" Will's soft voice, makes Mike slightly smile.

"sure" he nervously said. Will gave the phone to El and said it's Mike. El grabbed the phone out of his hand in annoyance.

"what do you want?" El quickly said. Mike was confused. She just snapped, and she has snapped a hundred times, but, this was different to him.

"what's up with you and Jake" Mike stuttered once again. El rolled her eyes and sighed.

"Mike, school is starting in two days, and I know it's pretty soon but, I think we need to... Be more distant, I mean we are right now but, just... You can talk to Will and-" Mike firously cuts off.

"you can talk with that Jake guy? Huh El?" Mike was filled with anger. El was filled with anxiety, she was scared if Mike will be mad at her forever.

"no no, I mean-" Mike cuts off again.

"you know what? Screw you El, and also if I didn't hit Billy at the pool a long time ago you would be dead" Will heard what he said and rushed to comfort El. While El was already upset hearing Mike said that.

"and if I didn't use my powers to save you YOU would be dead" El threw the phone and ran to her room, crying. Will quietly picked up the phone to try and calm Mike down.

"Mike what were you thinking, you can't just say that to her" Will softly said, little did he know his voice made the brunette on the other side, regret everything he has done.

"Will, i-i'm sorry okay I was being frustrated and-and" Mike sat down on the floor, one hand covering his face trying to stop his tears.

"and I miss you and it was just too... I just hate this feeling" Will was confused, he misses him? Feeling? What does he mean? Will questioned in his head.

"what feeling?" Will said in confusion. Mike inhales to try and calm his self down.

"I don't know Will, I have... Mixed feelings right now and I can't control them" Will sighed, he wished he was there for his best friend who was upset that day. And Mike wished he was here too.

"look, you need to apologize to El, I'll try to calm her down and maybe tomorrow you guys can talk" Will's fingers tapped on the phone he was holding. Mike chuckled and smiled.

"thanks Will, I wish you were here" Mike hungs up. He went upstairs to his room trying to be quiet. So no one will notice he was, a bit upset of himself.

He opens the door and sat on his bed, thinking about what he said and how guilty he felt. He holds his hands and lay down.

"I've had a long day"
