Kinza
I felt the rough canvas, my fingers seeking out my mother's warmth. But of course, like always she wasn't there. I snapped back to reality and got up from my bed, from my beautiful fantasy. She broke all ties from me once she found that I was the reason for the curse, the immortality.
I got up from my small bed, I looked around the small hotel room. It was filled with an ugly, grimy, tiny desk. The room smelled like a farm. I got up and began to wash my face in the small sink in the corner of the room. I pinned on my hijab and walked out of my hotel room with the small bag that I had a few pins, a red hijab, and a water bottle. The lady on the counter with long brown hair asked me for my payment. I put 3 coins on her papers and she smiled.
"Sure yeah don't wanna stay another nigh' here, it's five star- best in all of this drunk Torguta!" She said flashing her black and golden teeth on me.
"No, my stay here in Torguta is done, I shall be going to my home town this afternoon."
"So where all the Moos-Lums live? Oh please, my sweetheart- stay here, those barbarians-"
"You guys are the barbarians! You pirates and the Port Royals who just want to kill and kill and keep killing. The Port Royal gives like one Lakh to you bitches and you guys become so narcissistic!" I screamed angrily.
"Get out of my hotel, see your religion thought you nothing but disrespect your elders!"
I ran out of the hotel, see when I get angry and scream my breath becomes the kind of out. Like I can't breathe. I suck in some air as I fall down on my butt. That lady was nice, but when she talked about my religion like that, I couldn't hold it in. She was well enough to know that Muslims existed, or else everyone else thought I had this on because of Cancer. And I lied to her, my money is almost done, if I stay another night there, I'll be broke. And I don't have a hometown, I have no idea my family is.
If there is any Muslims left in this vile world or if Port Royal destroyed them. I began to sweat badly, the fluid ran down my skin, wetting my brown hair and under my hijab. The sun blazed down on me and I looked around to find kids and girls with a lot of kohl and frilly dresses running around. Pirates came here to get refills for there rum and a crew or something like that.
An ugly man came in front of me. He was unmistakably a pirate with long hair in thin braids with beads chinking on them.
"Should be here," he whimpered. Another man, who looked like he had less to do with piracy walked along. "Where would that Gibbs, be?"
"You said we'd come at night, we came late. That interceptor is slow, we won't reach Elizabeth at time." The man whispered pursing his lips and looking around.
When the pirate caught sight of me, he smiled. "Ahh, may I ask if you would know where the Torguta Drunk And Foods would be?'
"I am sorry, I have no idea." But then anger was still in my grip, "wouldn't be hard for a barbarian like you two to find it." I spat.
The other man put up a finger, "actually, you mistake me. I am no pirate or barbarian."
"So what are you? Trying to go save a damsel in distress with a street thug?"
"Is that really that hard to believe?" He asked.
The pirate let out a small laugh, "says the man who thought his father was a merchant!"
"He was a merchant," the man took out a thin but long sword.
"Oii not this again, how many times do I need to defeat you?"
"Both times you cheated!"
"Pirate," the person reminded.
"Yeah, he's right, PIRATE! So choosing a pirate to save your girlfriend got your self in a mess, you look like an honorable blacksmith to me." I said rolling my eyes.
"I am," he said blushing a bit.
"LIAR! He descends from piracy and is a swordsman or owns a sword and knows how to fight at the Port Royal." The pirate said mockingly.
"That's it!" the 'honorable blacksmith' took out his shiny sword and hit the pirate, the pirate blocked it with a rum bottle on the floor.
"Yeah, sure you guy's ain't savages- barbarians!" I screamed and I walked away.
