It's actually like thundering super loud outside so like strobe light lightning and firework thunder I'm kinda scared I think a tree might have fallen over and now its raining freaking BULLETS so ima head inside
Jefferson's POV
I pushed myself from the bad. I winced as my leg caught the side. Thunder rumbled and I saw lightning flash. I grabbed my sketchbook and pencil and hurried outside. It was warm, strangely, and only sprinkling.
Summer storm, I thought with a smile. I sat down in my chair and began to draw, but I was sidetracked by the loud cracks and rumbles of the thunder.
I listened to the brontide (thats such an uncommon word that its underlined lol) and sighed.
My character, so far, was a woman with lightning storms in her face. I thought it looked cool. Soon it was thunder after thunder, lightning like, well, lightning.
I watched the Wyoming hills, searching for any wildlife.
I saw some birds, but nothing else. Lightning tore at the hills in front of me, and flashed above my head.
Soon it started raining harder. A couple raindrops landed on my page, but I didn't care. But soon the wind picked up and blew rain into my face.
I picked up my sketchbook and pushed open the door. I closed it behind me and listened. Rain splattered against the windows. Thunder crashed. Lightning flashed.
I set down my sketchbook.
"Hamilton!"
I called. We had been sent on a trip to 'relax' by Washington. It was also a work trip, kind of. We were looking at the impact of presidents in Wyoming. Why Wyoming, I had no idea. But anyways, we were here.
"Hamilton!"
I said again. Usually Hamilton yelled back a sarcastic reply, but now he was silent. But not completely, I could hear something from upstairs. I walked up the stairs and knocked on his door.
"Hamilton, you in here?"
I said, waiting a few seconds before gripping the door handle. Over the raging storm, I thought I heard sobs. I slowly opened the door. Hamilton lay on his bed, curled up. He lifted his head, his face stained with tears. He tried to say something, but seemingly choked on his works and gasped for air. I reached out to touch him.
He scooted away from me.
"Can I touch you, Ha-Alexander?"
He looked up briefly, surprised I had used his first name. I decided to tell jokes.
"Hey, I have a joke for Lafayette."
Alexander sniffled and looked up.
"Wha-t-What-What is-is it-it?"
I smiled.
"I'm scared of French pancakes..."
l leaned closer to him.
"They give me the...The crepes."
Alexander smiled weakly. I moved a little closer and he didn't move away.
The rain was softening, the thunder becoming less frequent. The storm may almost be over, or it could be on a break. I could never tell with Wyoming weather.
I kind of wanted to ask him why he was so scared, but figured that if he wanted to tell me, he would.
"Do you want to see my sketchbook?"
Alexander nodded. I went downstairs and grabbed my sketchbook. Soon I was back. I showed him my sketchbook. We looked through the pages until Alexander fell asleep next to me.
I smiled and settled in beside him. We fell asleep together that night, and many more times after that.
Lol I'm rereading this like five months later and I really miss Wyoming now
There's a case of Coronavirus in the town my grandparents live in in Wyoming
So fuck.
