Y/n's pov
"Hey babe" I hear so I look up from my phone to see my girlfriend Jessica sliding into the booth across from me. I smile and greet her and seconds later the waiter comes and gives us our menus. We're having a lunch date at this pizza place in Cary North Carolina. We make casual conversation throughout most of lunch and these two girls come up asking for a picture which Jess quickly takes, she turns to me with a serious face.
"Y/n..." she trails off
"Oh no the last time you said my name like that I had to sleep on the couch...In my house too!" I huff causing her to laugh a little.
"Not my fault" she shrugs causing me to glare at her.
"It defiantly was but whatever"
"Okay but seriously though I need to talk to you about something." she says looking me in the eyes
"Okay..."
"Since we've been together for 5 months now, I think it's time for you to meet my son Jeremiah. He's a very important part of my life" she says and I nod slowly licking my lips
"Um"
"Don't worry I know he'll like you so don't be nervous" She says smiling as if she knew that was what I was worried about.
"Alright um when do you want me to meet him?" I ask
"Well I am going to pick him up from school soon so how about you meet us for dinner tonight?" she smiles
"Yeah sure, sounds good" I nod. I pay for our lunch and I give her a quick kiss goodbye because I know I'll see her later. I get in my car driving home and I kill time by finishing up some work and playing FIFA. I freshen up and make my way to Jess's house, I pull into her drive way and take a deep breath my palms instantly becoming sweaty. Come on Y/n she literally said not to be nervous. I hear my phone ringing and I look at who's calling and I see its Jess.
"Hello?" I ask
"Are you going to sit in my driveway all night or are you going to come inside?" she asks in a teasing tone. I look up to see her staring at me through the window a smile on her lips.
"Uh yeah I'm coming" I say turning off my car and hanging up. I walk up to the door knocking and seconds later she answers. I give her a quick kiss and she turns a bit calling out over her shoulder.
"Jeremiah could you come down here for a minute, I have someone I want you to meet". Seconds later I hear footsteps coming down the stairs and see the young boy round the corner and look at me.
"Jeremiah this is Y/n, Y/n this is my son Jeremiah" She says and I put my hand out to shake but he shakes his head and sticks out his fist causing me to chuckle a bit bumping his fist with mine.
"Dinner is almost ready, in the meantime why don't you two get to know each other. I'll call you when dinner is ready." She smiles walking into the kitchen kissing my check as she goes by.
"You like my mom?" He asks raising an eyebrow
"Yes I do, very much" I smile and he nods
"So what do you like to do for fun?" I ask
"Play fortnite, have you heard of it?"
"Yeah but I've never played before"
"Come on I'll teach you" he says grabbing my hand dragging me to the living room. I start to get the basics down but I hear Jeremiah sigh and I look over to him.
"You aren't very good at this Y/n you've already died like 20 times"
"Hey I'm learning i'd like to see you win one of these games." I huff and he grabs the controller starting a new game. He plays and after a little while he wins getting 1st. He looks at me smirking and I stick my tongue out at him. I hear someone clear their throat and I turn to see Jess with a amused smile on her face causing me to give her a goofy one.
"Dinner is ready kids" she laughs
"Hey!" I pout and she kisses my head. I stand up and walk towards the kitchen and make my plate I sit at the table and pick up my fork getting ready to eat until I feel something hit my face. I look down to see a single green pea on the table I look up to see Jeremiah chuckling a bit.
"Jeremiah we do not-" Jess starts but I cut her off by throwing some peas back at him.
"Y/n!" I look at her then Jeremiah and he and I both smirk and throw some food at Jess who gasps.
"Thats it" she glares and starts to throw food at both of us and we join in. We eventually settle down and go to get cleaned up. I borrow some of Jess's cloths and head to the shower and when I get out and step into her room I see her sitting on the bed. She looks up and smiles at me.
"I told you that he would like you and that you had nothing to worry about" She says standing up and walking towards me causing me to smile wrapping my arms around her waist pulling her into a kiss.
"I know and you were right. He's a good kid and next time I'm here I'm gonna kick his butt in fortnite"
