{Maya's POV}
I woke up and went to Riley's house. I felt really happy for some reason. I decided to wear Farkle's jersey because I felt like it, even if there was no game.
"PEACHES!" Riley gave me a huge hug when I crawled into his window
"RILES!" I hugged her back
"Why are you so happy today?" Riley asked
"Because life is good! I'm happy, you're happy, your parents are happy, my parents are happy, and Auggie and Ava are happy. Life is good." I smiled
"So you don't want anything to change?" Riley asked hopefully
"Yep. Change fills my pockets with pennies of uncertainty." I quoted Riley
"This life thing, I think I got it down." Riley snapped her fingers like she did back in middle school and I giggled
"School?" I held my arms for her to link arms with me
"Let's go!" Riley linked arms with me and we leave for school

"Riley!" Lucas picked Riley up when he saw her
"Lucas!" Riley smiled brightly
"Wow Maya, I'm shocked you're not gagging right now." Lucas joked
"I'm happy today, and I don't want anything to change." I said and went to hug Lucas
"This is very unusual." Lucas hugged me back
"Don't ruin it, it might be one of your only times seeing her this happy." Riley joked and we all laughed
"Excuse me, you dropped this." A boy with brown hair and brown eyes held a pen to me
"I didn't drop it." I told him
"I know, just wanted an excuse to talk to you." He shrugged
"Maya. Maya Hunter." I laughed as I held my hands out
"Gabe Duncan." He shook my hands
"This is my friend, Riley Matthews and Lucas Friar." I introduced him to Riley and Lucas
"Hi!" Riley smiled brightly
"Hello!" Lucas waved hi
"So, are you new here?" Riley asked
"Yea. Just moved here. Maya, I know we just met but. Would you want to go to a restaurant near my house?" Gabe asked, "Like a date." Gabe then quickly added
"Ummmm..." I stuttered
"She has a boyfriend." Riley quickly stepped in
"Yea. I have a boyfriend and we've been dating for three months. I'm sorry." I looked at him apologetically
"Oh." I saw a frown appear on his face, "It's fine. I'll see you around." Gabe walked away
"Okay... That was ummm. Interesting." I said awkwardly
"Hey, good thing you rejected him." Lucas said
