Would he?"Umm, Gina?" He said as if to wake me from my slumber.
Some students stopped to stare at us. They were whispering and I could also see them pointing.
What the hell do they want?
" Are you going to stand there and not help me up? I said my hand outstretched. I thought he was going to help me up but I see him reaching to pack his books instead.
"Well watch where you are going next time." He mumbled.
"Excuse me!"
I stood up on my own an got a clear look of his face. I was too annoyed to be fascinated at how much puberty had changed him.
I made contact with his face and I could see why he was being an ass. He was handsome. I could see his muscles that were pretty built and he had a well defined jaw, he had a sharper look than before all though having the same face I remember then but a better version and his gaze was sickening he looked like he was enjoying me watching him.
Maybe a sound slap will do the job. But now that he stood taller than me would make that a difficult task.
"So why are you here?" I asked. Was he here to see me? although I really doubt it, moving to France was better than staying with me back then.
"I am here to school."
"Well, why here? After you suddenly left?" My voice held more emotions than intended so I drew back a little.
" Gina-" I held up a hand for him signalling him to stop. I was not in the mood to listen to whatever he wanted to say to me.I just couldn't take it in. He can go and come back whenever he felt like it and make me go crazy.
The bell rang like crazy. We had wasted so much time in the principal's office. Now school was closing. I walked up to my locker and saw Folake's thin figure lying against Tunde's locker from a distance. They were holding hands.
I pretended not to see them and I took the books I needed without glancing towards them. It was painful though not the fact that they were a dating but Folake felt that she couldn't tell me, trust me.
And after what happened today, I was in deep shit already. I tried to imagine what would happen in the house today. My mom throwing me out of the house and making me hawk on the streets like she promised ever since I was a little child or her whining and saying how she had been a better kid to her parents in her childhood. I didn't care of those sort of things even though it made me boil and get angry.
I think I might have exaggerated by thinking she would throw me out. She never seemed like she would do that. I had to be careful still, I told my self.
I had become accustomed to the daily walking down the streets. And it was in good hopes when I saw my mom cleaning and humming in the kitchen through the glass window. It was a rare opportunity in paradise.
"Mum!" I shouted to the glass window. I waved at her expecting to increase her good mood then I saw her smile waver and the look she had on her face was almost gone. She was looking at me with a stony expression.
Trouble in paradise.
I'm the trouble.
I removed the smile off her face.
And made her a Cape made of blaze.I quietly made my way into the house waiting and expecting for any bomb to explode on me. I greeted the smirk on my elder brother's face at the entrance and he indicated a death signal by passing his hand over his neck.
" I bet you have lived enough for this fifteen years of your life." He said happily
"You wish, I bet you will die before I do, elder brother," I returned his death signal.
