Brannon carried Louis' small body up the stairs and into the living room. He had dressed him in his own clothes since Louis' clothes were dirty and wrinkly after being thrown on the floor. He looked even smaller in the large hoodie Bran had put on him, it nearly hung off his shoulders which exposed all the hickeys and bite marks on his neck. They didn't have time to eat breakfast. Louis was basically asleep in Bran's arms too so eating properly wouldn't have happened anyway.
Bran put Louis in the passenger seat and put the seatbelt over him. His breathing was still somewhat shallow and he was obviously hurting. Louis was barely awake enough to pay attention to anything. He could walk, it just looked funny and hurt a little. He could see and talk, it just wasn't very proper. Bran got in his car and stomped down on the gas to get a racing start. Only then did Louis fully wake up and realise what was happening. The speed made Louis gasp and he put a hand over his stomach.
"What..?" He stuttered. "This isn't..."
"Your clothes were dirty so I dressed you in some of mine... I know they're too big for you but it looks cute..."
"You... dressed me..?" The heat scattered over Louis' face. How gone had he been? The last thing he remembered was being picked up and... carried off... "oh my god..." he whimpered. "You saw... everything..."
"Mhmm..." Bran snickered.
...
With shaky, careful steps Louis got out of the car in the school's parking lot, holding onto Bran's arm as he helped Louis out. The hoodie Bran had dressed Louis in hung heavily over his thin body like a shirt dress. If Louis had been any shorter than the hoodie would've hung down over his butt. Percy and Bran were about the same height, so next to them Louis probably looked short. But Louis was of average height.Everyone always stared when Bran rolled up to school in his Lamborghini. Bran had driven Louis to school before but not many people had been in the parking lot that time. But today the parking lot was packed.
"I thought you said we were gonna be late..." Louis stuttered. Everyone stared at them. There wasn't one person who looked away as Louis stood next to the school's darling football player, wearing a hoodie that spelt out "Begum".
"I lied..." Bran whispered, awfully close to Louis' neck. Louis glanced over at the large clock that hung over the school entrance and sighed. They weren't late at all, they were actually 15 minutes early. "Do you want anything to eat?"
"No thanks..." Louis mumbled.
"Alright..." Bran sighed.
The two walked towards the entrance of the school as the other students stared in amazement, jealously and confusion. Bran couldn't help but smirk as he saw all the girls who were ready to cry when they saw the hickeys on Louis' neck.
"You're walking a bit funky..." Bran teased and bumped Louis' side. He whimpered silently. "Still sore?" Louis nodded as Bran put his arm around him. "Good... I want you to remember my touch all day..." He snickered.
...
Louis walked into his classroom and sat down in his seat. Sitting down felt a bit uncomfortable and he nervously turned in the chair while his classmates came into the classroom. He couldn't remember what class it was. The school did rely on laptops for the students though so carrying around books wasn't necessary. They only needed their laptops."Carter..." Someone growled in Louis' ear. The voice was eerily familiar but he couldn't place it. Louis slowly turned around in the seat as the goosebumps crawled over his skin. Kyle Harley glared down at him. His tall figure made Louis bend forward onto his desk as the fear crawled within him.
"Hah... hi..." He stuttered.
"We need to talk..."
...
Kyle threw Louis against the wall and a loud thud travelled through the air as his head got knocked back against the brick wall. Kyle hadn't thrown him too hard but Louis was a lot lighter than he expected so he had put too much force into the throw. The schoolyard was empty, no one ever came to the back of the gym. The grass was usually overgrown and unattended to but since winter was approaching, the grass was dying and had started sloping over. Kyle Harley tied his fingers into a tight fist and slammed it into the side of the small boy's rib cage. It only took one hit for Louis to fall down onto the ground as he let out a loud grunt of pain."What the fuck have you been saying to him, you little shit?!" Kyle spat.
"Who?" Louis whimpered.
"Stop playing dumb!" Kyle roared. He jammed his foot into Louis' stomach. Louis yelped loudly as he writhed on the ground. "Tell me what you've been saying to Bran!"
The only noises Louis could make were the desperate attempts at breathing. He coughed violently as he clenched onto the hoodie Bran had put him in. "I haven't said anything about anyone!" He cried.
"He's been treating me like shit for the past few days... and guess who's been by his side by the past few days like a leach..." Kyle pressed his shoe against Louis' cheek, forcing his down into the ground while slowly weighing down on his jaw. "Tell me what you told him about me..."
The motions Louis made were desperate and freighted. He was used to being beaten, but no one had ever interrogated him before. "I haven't said anything! I promise!"
"What's going in between you two?!" Kyle hissed as he moved his foot away. A large red shoe print was left over Louis' face. His white hair was full of grass, leaves and dirt. "You're wearing his favourite hoodie... did you steal it or something?!"
"He gave it to me..." Louis cried. Kyle had kicked the exact same spot where Bran had kissed him just hours earlier. Not only that, but he'd also gotten his hoodie dirty.
"He's not... gay..." Kyle muttered. "Why's he been all over you lately? Why's he so overprotective of you?"
"He..." Louis whispered. "I don't know..."
An unexpected punch landed on Louis' head and it was slammed back down onto the ground. He was starting to get a violent headache. Not only that, but he also wasn't wearing his jacket. He had forgotten it in Bran's room when they hurried out. Usually, he'd be fine with just a hoodie but the ground was cold and hard, it quickly cooled him down.
"Go back to Asia you yellow skinny freak..." Kyle mumbled as he wiped his cheeks. His back was turned to Louis as the tears welled up in his eyes. "You look like a failed attempt at making some Asian pop star... you could even decide what eye colour you wanted?! You look like a fucking squinty-eyed doll! Your ears are so big you could use them like a fucking parachute..."
A weak laugh escaped Louis' lips and Kyle turned around in surprise. "That's the weirdest insult I've ever heard..." Louis mumbled with a chuckle. His eyes were full of sadness yet they looked empty. Full of emotions he didn't want to acknowledge. "Who... hurt you?" He whispered before his eyes went blank and his hand fell to the ground. A drop of blood fell from his lip. The colour was bright against the dying grass and it landed right in all that grey like a splash of colour.
"Carter..?" Kyle stuttered. "Carter, wake up... stop messing around..." Kyle poked Louis' unconscious body with his foot. "It's not funny... I didn't hit that hard..."
...
"They found a body behind the gym!" Someone yelled as Bran walked down the corridor. "They think it's Louis Carter!""So he finally killed himself?" Someone laughed.
Brannon Begum dropped everything he was holding. The laptop shattered on the stone floor and his steps thundered as he sprinted towards the exit.
