Chapt. 8

August's Pov

It's been 3 whole months since I've heard from Onika. I tried calling her but she always ignores it.

I haven't been happy since she's been gone. This shit ain't even me to be acting like this.

It's raining but I decide to go walking. I end up in Onika's neighborhood and I stop by her house.

I knock on the door and she answers. She opens the door and her stomach is poked out. My mouth falls open.

"What do you want August?" She asks. "I came to see you , you know surprise you but I'm the one with the surprise." I say looking at her stomach.

"What are you talking about?" She says covering her baby bump. "Onika don't act like I can't see it. You're pregnant." I say moving her hand and rubbing her stomach.

She breaks down and I hold her. "Shhh baby I'm here." I say rubbing her back. "I was so scared to tell you , I haven't told anybody. I thought you weren't gon accept it , I just thought you would leave me a single mother." She cries in my chest.

I pick her up and carry her in. "Baby I'd never do that to you. I know it's my baby. I'm not going anywhere baby I promise , we're raising our child together okay?" I ask. She nods her head and looks up at me.

"Onika , I'm sorry , what I did was stupid. I wanna be here for you , I wanna be here for you and my baby." I say rubbing her stomach. She nods her head and kisses me. I lay her on the couch and lay next to her.

I rub her baby bump and kiss it. "I love you Onika." I say looking up at her. Her tummy makes a weird move. "Yes I love you too baby." I say kissing her tummy.

"August I missed you." She says pulling me back up to her face. "I missed you too baby." I say kissing her forehead. Then somebody knocks on her door.

"I got it baby." I say getting up. I answer it and it's her friend Tré. "You need something?" I ask.

"Came to see Nicki." He says looking me up and down. I let him in and sit next to Nicki.

I wrap my arms around her and rub her stomach. "Wassup Tré." She says smiling. He stops dead in his tracks and looks at her stomach. "The question is , Wassup with you?" He asks.

"I'm pregnant." She says blushing and smiling. "By?" He asks. "Me." I say looking up at him. "How many months?" He asks. "Three." She says.

He balls up his fits and runs out the door. Onika sighs and gets up. I pull her back down. "Nuh uh where you going?" I say wrapping both arms around her again.

"Tré will be okay. Lay up with me." I say sitting her in my lap. She nods her head and rubs her tummy. "August we needa talk." She says turning my face towards hers.

I give her my full attention. "You know your girls and your cheating? It has to stop. Now. I can take it when we're just together but when we're parents , no I refuses to get embarrassed in front of my kids." She says wiping some tears.

"I promise baby all of it stops now." I say holding both of her hands. She sighs. "You don't believe me do you?" I ask. She shakes her head no. "I know you don't , but I'll make it all up to you. The cheating , the girls , I'll make all of it to you baby." I say pulling her into my chest.

She kisses me and plays with my hair. I look her in her eyes and caress her cheek. She starts blushing. "Baby you so beautiful." I say biting my lip at her.

Onika's Pov

August falls asleep on my chest and my tummy starts to hurt again. "Ooooh baby what's wrong now?" I ask the baby rubbing my stomach.

My phone starts ringing and it's Tré. "Hello?" I answer. "Onika why didn't you tell me you were pregnant!" He says getting a little loud. I calm my attitude and breath in and out.

"First Tré ima need you to calm your tone with me and I don't know I was scared." I says twirling my hair. "But are you sure it's August's baby tho? You know we had sex when you and him separated." He says sighing.

"Tré , I know for a fact that it isn't your baby. August & I had unprotected sex at least 3 times. It's most likely his." I say rolling my eyes. August starts waking up a little.

"I'll talk to you later Tré." I say hanging up. August wakes up fully and kisses my stomach.

"Baby I'm so ready to be a daddy. Finally carry on my last name , know I found the girl I can settle down with and I can stay with forever." He says looking up at me.

"I know you are babe , I'm excited too and I'm happy to be having the child that'll carry your last name." I say smiling down at him. I caressing his cheek.

We just lay up and chill for the rest of the day. But I can't get what Tré said off my mind , what if August isn't the father? What if Tré is right? God please I don't need this Maury drama in my life.
