Chapt. 19

  Onika's Pov

We're finally back home and back with Aaliyah. Aug & I have already started planning the wedding. Everything's perfect.

Except for Wayne , as soon as we set foot in the house he called me telling me he got shot. I shed a tear but August wipes them away.

"Stop crying baby he'll be okay. I promise." He says kissing my cheek. I wipe my eyes and nod my head. "I wanna go see him." I say looking up Aug. "I'll get Aaliyah dressed you stay down here." He says getting up.

August's Pov

I go upstairs and put Aaliyah in her Baby Chanel onesy. I find her sweatpants and slide them on. I find her little white ugg boots and put them on.

"Dada Dada." She says chewing on her hand. I smile and put her hair into a ponytail. "Baby does Aaliyah need a coat?" I yell. "Yes." Onika yells back.

I get her North Face coat and zip it up. I carry her downstairs and sit her in Onikas lap. "Lemme go get my coat then we'll leave." I say going back upstairs.

I grab my stuff and get everything. I go back downstairs and carry Aaliyah out. Onika gets the keys and we're off to the hospital.

We get there and Onika rushes to Wayne's room. I just follow behind slowly not wanting be here.

"Wayne you okay?" She asks hugging him. "You on the bullet Nika. Shit get up!" He says holding her torso. "I'm sorry!" She says backing up.

"Wassup Aug." He says nodding. "Can't call it mane. How you feel?" I say nodding back. "Could Be Better But I'll Be Alright." He says scratching his head. I just shake my head and take Aaliyah's coat off.

She taps my chest and points to Wayne. "Yeah You See Uncle Wayne?" I ask laughing. "Lemme hold her." Wayne says opening his arms. I put Aaliyah in his hands and he lays her on his chest.

She plays with his dreads while Onika & Wayne talk. Man , God dont let Wayne be another Tre.

Onika's Pov

"Wayne you sure you're okay?" I ask. "Nika , I'm Fine Okay?" He asks playing with Liyah's ponytail. I nod and sit on his bed.

"So when's the wedding?" Wayne asks. "November 4." I say smiling. "You know I'm there." He says looking at me. "What you mean? You're in it fool , you gotta give me away." I say laughing. He nods his head.

"Baby I gotta be at work in a hour." Aug says checking his phone. "Oh damn come on let's go." I say standing up and getting Aaliyah. I put her coat on and give Aug the keys.

We leave and go home so Aug can go to work.

"Alright baby Im gone." Aug says throwing on his coat and kissing me. "I'll be here right where you leaving me." I say kissing him. "Dont act like that." He says picking Aaliyah up.

"Bye my baby. Daddy loves you. And Daddy has a surprise for you when he gets home." He says holding her a little above his head. She laughs and holds his face. He kisses her and puts her back on the bed.

"Babe bring dinner home!" I yell before he walks out the door. Aaliyah looks up at me and raises her arms above her head. I pick her up and lay back she sits on my stomach.

My phone starts to ring and it's Chris calling me. I hesistate , but answer it on the last ring.

"Hello?" I answer. "Aug left for work yet?" He asks. "No." I say biting my lip. "Lying ass , see you in 10 minutes." He says hanging up. My eyes get wide and I call Aug's other friend , Jeremih.

"Jeremih , come over now! Im feeling in danger it's a fucking emergency! Pleaseee come over!" I say when he answers. "Calm Down Nika , Im On My Way. Im coming. Stay on the phone until I get there." He says sighing.

I sit up and hold Aaliyah close and keep the phone to my ear. I hear the doorbell ring.

"Is that you at the door?" I ask wiping a tear. "Yea it's me come open the door." He says. I hang up and carry Aaliyah downstairs with me.

I open the door and Jeremih stands there. I run in his arms and he holds me. He carries me back inside and closes the door. "Onika tell me what's wrong." He says sitting me on the couch and taking Aaliyah out my arms.

"Chris called me saying he was on his way , and the last time I talked to Chris we were not on good terms. Jay , Im scared." I say looking up at him. "Aye aye , dont be scared. I'm here and Aug will be home soon. I got you now." He says sitting next to me.

He wraps his arms around me. I cry a little and he holds me. The door bell rings and the door nob shakes. I look up at Jeremih.

"I got this." He says sitting Aaliyah in my lap and getting up. I hold Aaliyah close and just watch.

"Nah can't let you do that. Chris what you want man aint nobody here but Aaliyah. Im babysitting. Yeah we'll see what Aug gotta say about that." He says slamming the door.

He comes back and sits next to me. "Thank you Jeremih." I whisper. He just kisses my forehead and hugs me. I fall asleep in his arms.

August's Pov

I get off work and got hella text messages from Chris & 1 text from Jeremih.

Chris was going on and on about how him & Jeremih ran train on Onika.  Jeremih says He's over there with Onika because she felt like she was in danger because of Chris sending threats.

I speed home and burst through the door. Onikas on the couch asleep with Aaliyah and Jeremihs watching tv.

Onika wakes up and runs in my arms. I hold her while she cries and look up at Jeremih. He just sighs and shakes his head.

"Im here baby shh." I say rubbing het back and running my fingers through her hair. She looks up at me. I wipe her eyes and kiss her.

"Ima handle this once and for all. Jay come on , Onika stay here lock all the doors , you and Aaliyah stay upstairs until I get back." I say letting her go and going into the attic.

I get 2 glocks one for me one Jeremih.

I put the gun in my waist band and throw Jeremih his.

I get ready to leave but Aaliyah calls me. I turn around and Aaliyah has her hands raised above her head.

I pick her up and kiss her forehead. I pull her bracelet out of my pocket with Daddy's Baby engraved in it. "Daddy will be home soon okay? I love you." I say putting the bracelet on her little wrist. She admires it for a little while and kisses my cheek.

I put her back on the couch. I hug Onika and kiss her. Then leave.
