Chapt. 13

August's Pov

On my way to work , I stop by Starbucks , just to see Teyana. I get out and order something. I see Teyana at a table. I come behind her and tap her shoulder. "August?" She asks. "In the flesh Tee." I say smiling. She jumps in my arms. "August it's been so long!" She says smiling and laughing. "Yeah I know , but how you been Tee?" I ask.

She just looks me deep in my eyes like she was amazed. She kisses me and wraps her arms around my neck. "Teyana!" I say pushing her into a seat. "What it's not like you're married." She says looking up at me. "I know , I ain't but I might as well be , you know I got a kid now." I say sitting on the opposite side of her. "Come on Aug , I know you miss me , and you know I miss you too." She says trying to hold my hand.

"You wrong I don't miss you , I miss but it's too late for us." I say getting up. I get my coffee and leave. I sit in the parking lot and start thinking. Do I Miss Her? Does She Miss Me?

I pull off and go to work. When I get in the parking lot Onika calls me. "Yes baby?" I say answering. "Hey , I'm at the doctors office I think Aaliyah's sick." She says sighing. "On my way babe." I say hanging up.

I go in and tell my boss that I can't come in today then I go over to the doctors office. "Can I help you sir?" She asks. "Yeah I'm here with Aaliyah Alsina." I say sliding my hands in my pockets. "She's in the room all the way to the back." She says.

Before I get to the room I hear her crying. I walk in and she reaches up for me. "What's wrong ma?" I ask picking her up. "She was about to give her a flu shot but she started crying before they could stick her." Onika says sighing. "Aw come on baby be a big girl for daddy today." I say sitting her back on the bench.

She holds my index fingers and they give her the shot and she goes to crying. "Living Expensive Life , And I'm Just Getting Started I Get Instant Hype , Cause You Forever My Lady Forever My Baby." I sing picking her up. She stops crying and looks up at me. I smile and kiss her forehead.

"But what's wrong with her?" I ask. "Just got a cold." Onika says coming behind me and wrapping her arms around me. "Ewwww , you sick!" I say putting her forehead on mine. She laughs and holds my face. I smile and kiss her. "Come on baby , let's get you home." Onika says taking her from me.

We leave and I meet Onika at home. When she gets out shes on the phone. I take a sleeping Aaliyah in the house and lay her in her crib. "Oh my god Chris shut up!" I hear Onika talking on the phone.

"Oh really? It's whenever you want it." She says laughing. I go downstairs and take her phone. I hang up and look at her. "What's your problem!" She asks putting her hands on her hip. "Nah , what's your problem? It's Whenever You Want It Chris , Oh Shut Up Chris. What's going on between y'all?" I ask going through her phone.

I go through their text messages and see he's been trying to get with her and she keeps turning him down. I turn around and face. "Onika I'm so sorry." I say handing her phone back. "I'm not like you August! I'm loyal to mine , when I love I love hard you wouldn't know about that! I saw you kissing Teyana! I thought she didn't mean anything to you!" She yells punching me in my chest.

"Wait baby no! She kissed me! I pushed her away! Oh my fucking god are serious , Onika I don't want her , I want my baby mother , my future wife , my girl , my baby , I only want you Onika." I say holding her hands. I turn her around and wrap my arms around. I kiss her neck and hold her.

Onika's Pov

I knew he couldn't change , I knew he wouldn't change. I break down silently and cry my heart out.

"August I'm going home." I say unwrapping his arms from around me. "Huh? Baby what you mean you at home. You not going back uptown Onika no I refuse." He says taking my hands. "August no move , I'm not gonna sit here and be played like a fool." I say walking past him.

I go upstairs and get pack a bag. I get Aaliyah and go back downstairs. August is sitting in front of the door with his head in his hands. He looks up at me with tears in his eyes and tears going down his cheeks.

"Onika please , don't leave me baby. I need you." He says getting on his knees. This is the second time I've seen August cry and it takes a lot for him to express his feelings. I sigh and put my bags down. He gets up and hugs me. "Baby I love you , so fucking much." He says getting on his knees and crying into my stomach.

I run my fingers through his hair and make him look up at me. I caress his cheek and get on my knees with him. "I love you too baby." I say laying my head on his chest. He wraps his arms around me and Aaliyah wakes up. She rubs her eyes and looks up at us. I smile and kiss her. She smiles and laughs.

"Just a happy baby ain't you?" I ask tickling her. She smiles and slides outta my lap. I pick her back up and  run my fingers through her curly hair. I hear August laughs and chuckles at us. "What?" I ask looking up at him. "Y'all remind me of that baby picture you had hanging up in your room , you were sitting in your moms lap and she was playing in your lap." He says laughing.

I punch him in his arm. "Shut up punk!" I say laughing. He kisses me and just keeps laughing. I swear I love his life.
