"Ate Bei, tulog ka na?"
Napalingon ako sa katabi ko ngayon at tiningnan ko oras sa phone ko. Its already 11:30 in the evening. We are supposedly asleeep because we still have training tomorrow.
Time flies so fast. After i graduate in SHS while Cel chose La Salle and Maki passed the UPCAT, i myself went straight to Ateneo and luckily they lack middle blockers in volleyball team. I was in and never did i imagine that it will change my life - in any ways i could ever imagine.
Muntik ko nang makuha ang Rookie of the Year award that time but i didnt. Sabi ko sa sarili ko i will work hard enough to bring again the championship in Ateneo.
I met different people here. It widen my circle. Kung noon I only have Cel and Maki as close friends but Kyle, Gello and Raffa added to our tropa, now i knew people in any field. Malawak ang sports for student-athletes but the sports itself is also the reason why we begin the kinship. Like now, who would have thought that Dani Ravena will be my teamate now eh dati kalaban ko lang sya sa Miriam.
"Ate Bei, you are spacing out."
"Ay sorry hehe may naalala lang. What is it ba at di ka makatulog dyan?"
"Kuya kasi is asking if we are free on weekend daw. Hangout ata with BEBOB."
"I am free on Saturday, i just dont know to the other girls. Ask them nalang."
Dati put her phone on the bedside table then humarap sa'kin. "What is it? Why are you staring?"
"Wala ate, i am just wondering if the rumors are true about you and kuya." She's smiling and i can see it in her eyes that she wants to grasp some news.
Haynako sa tagal ko na rin sa volleyball hindi na bago sakin ang ganyang tono at tanong.
"Hahahahaha! No we are just friends. Good friends nga di ba sabi ng Kuya mo?"
"But ate, did he court you ba talaga?"
"He did. Ata? Di ko sure ah last high school. He did ask me."
Napabangon si Dani at napaupo sa bed. Shock is very evident all over hee face. I cant blame her ganyan din reaction ni Maddie and Kat noon. Hahahahaha. Wala naman big deal.
"Omg ate!! What happened? Bakit hindi natuloy?" Yakap yakap na nya ang unan nya habang naghihintay ng sagot ko.
"Well i think, there is no definite reason why it did not happen. Nawala nalang bigla. Saka hindi ko alam kung ligaw ba 'yon or what and plus i really dont see your Kuya as my boyfriend back then."
"Why ate? Do you like someone else before?"
"Yes Dans." Naalala ko na naman 'yon childish act ko noong highschool. Hahahaha. Beatriz talaga.
"Kunsabagay ate if you two end up together on hs days nyo di rin kayo magtatagal just like what happened to Ate Lie and Ate Trish."
Yes, Thirdy and I did not end up last highschool but i have no regrets. Sabi ko nga i dont really see him as somebody noon.
"Yah you can say that. I remember before i used to hate your Kuya back then."
"Oh ate?Why?"
"Becuase he's so makulit saka ang creepy kaya nya. Imagine noon laro natin noon, he cheer for us instead of you."
"Hahahahaha oo nga Ate. Manong used to ask him nga saan ba sya magtitinda ng sorbetes kasi yellow lagi pinapabiling damit kay Mom."
"Hahahaha oh really? Hahahaha grabe i cant imagine Thirdy as sorbetes boy."
