Chapter Six
I knew I couldn’t call the police. I didn’t want to deal with them sending squad cars and the whole nine yards. I was the only one who could know about this, for now. I stuffed the note into my back pocket and walked up the stairs, seeing as there was a trail of blood leading up them. I followed it into my bedroom where another surprise awaited. This time, I couldn’t help it. A loud, bone chilling scream escaped from my throat. I quickly covered my mouth with my hands, muffling it to a point.
Without thinking, or hesitating to do anything, I ran over to Hellen, feeling for a pulse or anything. Nothing, nothing telling me she was alive. I had touched a cold, dead, bloody body. My own step-mothers’ freezing, dead body.
I backed away, taking slow, baby steps. My gaze was glued to all the gashes she had on varies parts of her body. The worst one seemed to be at the base of her neck, sliced the whole way through. You could barely even recognize who she was with all the dried blood on her. It was a horrific sight to see and continue to stare at, so I turned on my heel and speed walked out of the room, down the long hallway, into Hellen’s bedroom. I flopped down onto Hellen’s bed, thinking about what I should do next.
I thought and thought and thought for what seemed to be hours, but only turned out to be a couple minutes. I had an idea. It had to happen, fast.
I ran back into my room, grabbed Hellen’s bloody wrists and drug her out of the room and down the grand stair case. I didn’t stop once until I was outside and covered by the fence so no one would see what I was doing. I went to the shed, pulled a shovel out and started digging a massive hole, way deep into the ground. While I was digging, I thought of nothing but the note in my back pocket. What it stated, how it was stated, and the signature seemed to occupy my mind, and will for the longest time until I figure it all out.
A/N - Sorry ya'll. This has to be THE shortest chapter ever. I'll make the next one longer if I can!
