Chapter 3 - Fighting James

Hey guys! I swear that our precious Seth will be coming into the story soon!! Just trying to give everyone a sense of who Lacie is as a person. I hope ya'll like it :) 

We arrived at the hotel and I grabbed the bag and swung it over my bag, I turned around and saw Bella constantly looking at her phone. Probably waiting for Edward. "He'll call eventually Bella, once he knows your safe." I gave her a smile and turned back around and walked with Alice and Jasper. We all walked together towards our hotel room and once we were inside I went and found one of the rooms and unpacked my stuff. Considering what I overheard my parents saying about this James guy is that he is very good at tracking things. I tried not to think about it too much knowing that Jasper would be able to feel how anxious I was.

After a few hours of sitting together in the hotel room I managed to get comfortable sitting by the window and drawing the view that was in front of me. Alice and Jasper were sitting together on the couch and Bella on her bed. I then heard the rustling sound of Jasper looking for a pen and paper, I turned around and could tell that Alice was having a vision. I sat down next to her and I could tell that Bella was concerned, considering she hadn't seen Alice have a vision before. "She draw what she see's in her vision." I told her and she sat down next to me. "But Edward said that her visions are sometimes wrong."

"She only sees the vision based on the path someone is on, they change path the visions change." Jasper corrected her; he had known Alice for so long he probably knew her power as much as she did. "So he's going to a ballet studio?"

"Wait you've been here before?" Alice asked, suddenly out of her vision?"

"It looks like the studio I went to as a kid."

"Is it here in Phoenix?" Bella replied with a nod, Alice and Jasper spoke quietly to themselves giving me the look to take Bella to the other room why they sorted out what to do.

After an hour Alice told us that we were going to leave the hotel and go back to Forks, worried that James would be here in Phoenix with us. Bella and I were waiting while the other two were organising a car. Suddenly Bella's phone started to ring and she instantly started to worry and walk in a frantic. When she hung up I walked up to her. "Who was that? Was it Edward?"

"It was James, he has my mom?" She looked at me with fear in her eyes. "Did he say wear? I'll have to get Alice maybe she saw something."

"No! I can't get them involved, he'll hurt her. I have to go by myself." I looked at her in disbelief, "Are you kidding? I can't let you go my yourself, I'm coming with you." Instead of arguing with me she grabbed her bag and told me to follow her out to the street where we got a taxi.

Once we pulled up in front of the ballet studio Bella went through her bag pulling out a can of pepper spray and putting it in her jacket pocket. "Do you think it will do anything?" I asked her and she just shrugged as we walked towards the large doors that creaked loudly. I recognised the large room with mirrors and arch from Alice's vision. We were defiantly at the right place. We then heard a frightened female voice calling out to Bella. We both looked around to where we think the noise was coming from, I then found a cupboard and quickly ran towards it and opened both doors. Too my confusion I only saw a metal chair with a video camera with Bella's mother repeating the same words looking for a young Bella. "Bella? Your Mum's not here. It was all fake we need to leav- " As I was about to finish my sentence I saw James pushing Bella towards the other side of the room, landing on the ground with a loud thud. Making me flinch. My stomach swelled with fear as I saw James turn around and stare at me with an evil grin. I tried to run towards the door, inches close to door handle I felt a strong grip on my ankle that pulled me away from the door and onto the wooden floorboards. A sharp pain going through my entire body, as I tried to crawl away from him and he grabbed me to face him as I struggled trying to distract him long enough that Alice would soon have a vision. "Edwards going to find us and kill you." He gave me a stern look, "If they were going to find you, they would have been here by now, face it. You guys are all alone here." I don't know what was going in my head but my first instinct was too hit him, as I raised my arm he grabbed it quickly. He began squeezing so hard that I could hear the sound of bones cracking. I screamed in pain as I was thrown towards the wall of mirrors. I saw Bella run towards me seeing all the blood "Oh shit." I heard her mutter under her breath. James slowly walked towards us, his eyes on Bella. As he got closer I saw her reach into her pocket and pull out the can of pepper spray, aiming it into his eyes. Which only made him angrier, he grabbed Bella and threw her into a wall. I tried to get up to help her but a sharp pain growing up my leg, seeing the large shards of glass sticking out. Suddenly feeling uneasy I leaned against the broken mirror to steady myself. I winced as I heard Bella shriek in pain watching James break her leg. My heart dropped when I saw his face inch towards her wrist that he had a strong grip on. "No!" I screamed as I watched him sink his teeth into her skin. He then looked at me again; his eyes hungry for what I could only presume would be my blood. "Like I said none of your family showed up to save you." His grin grew wider as his hand wrapped around my neck lifting me up against the mirror I was leaning on. My vision beginning to fade, all I could hear was Bella screaming in agony. The corners of my vision beginning to blur as I accepted my fate. I felt my airways opening and my breathing eased and I saw my father looking at me with worry. "Lacie are you alright?" Somehow with all this commotion his voice still managed to be calm. "I'm fine you need to check Bella, James got her." My voice tired, as I felt myself slowly going in and out of consciousness. The pain throughout my body was nearly unbearable but I managed to stay awake to watch my family surround Bella. They had to make sure that they got the venom out as Edward sunk back into the same wound. I could tell that it was working when Bella's cries began to falter and I slowly began to close my eyes knowing that Bella was safe.
