Third person POV

As Seth jumped out of the water onto the shore with his unconscious imprint in his arms he quickly placed her on the sand. Listening for anything breathing, a pulse— nothing. Panic started to flood the young werewolf's body, he placed his head against Lacie's chest maybe his wolf instincts were failing him. But still nothing. He quickly started to control himself and try and perform CPR on the girl. Begging her to wake up.

Thanks to the werewolves mind link, his pack mates had heard him and knew that something was wrong. Jacob had heard what had happened to the youngest Cullen and stood in Bellas house while she talked with the psychic vampire in her lounge room. The wolf inside of him decided to do nothing— but Seth's mind link had let Jacob feel the same sadness that he was feeling. He couldn't do that to Seth. The wolf let out a huff and walked to the lounge room and informed the vampire of what happened to her sister.

From the second that Alice had called Carlisle and Esme they were in Forks within moments. They had gotten permission from Sam to come past their reservation, since an imprint was in danger. Esme let out a choked sob when she saw her human daughter lying on the sand lifeless. She wanted her to be awake right now, she wanted to scold her for being so reckless. Anything was better than this. Carlisle kneeled next to his daughter Seth was still pumping her chest hoping that it would wake her up. He had blabbered to Carlisle, telling him about Victoria and how she dropped Lacie over the cliff. Thats when he smelt it. Blood. Looking over he noticed the blood that was pooling around the back of her head. Thats when he realised what had happened. Esme had looked over to her husband and asked him what was wrong. "It seems she's hit her head on the rocks. The tumour had applied too much pressure on her skull— which had been weakened by the chemo. It's obviously shattered on impact of the rocks." Esme had covered her mouth with her hands— if she could cry right now she would. She watched as her husband was now trying to resuscitate their daughter. Esme wouldn't even dare to look over at Lacie— her skin what used to be a tan olive was now pale and ghostly. Her vibrant brunette hair was no knotty and colourless. Seth was now sitting next to his imprint, he had no idea how to help. He watched the eldest Cullen tried more times to resuscitate his Imprint, a loud crack sound could be heard. Thats when Esme grabbed her husbands hands to stop him. "We need to take her to a hospital, we can't help her here." The vampires eyes had gone from a golden yellow to a hollow black. "What are we going to do?" Seth had stood up as Carlisle had picked up Lacie and had ran off extremely quick. Esme had rested a hand on Seth trying to comfort him. "We're going to take her to the hospital, you are welcome to come with us."

"If you have to change her do it. Anything to keep Lacie alive." Esme gave him a hopeful smile before following her husband out the woods.

The vampire parents had met back at their Forks home, grateful that they hadn't emptied the doctors office in the home. Knowing that it was too late for them to try take her to the hospital. The Forks hospital was quite up to date compared to other hospitals but Carlisle knew Lacie was safer at their home.

Carlisle had decide to try and operate, although it had showed no avail. The cancer had spread too far that any surgery would do nothing. Although they weren't able to cry, Carlisle could still the pain rise in his chest. His youngest child, lifeless in front of him— he had let her down. He knew what he had to do but he just to bring himself to do it. She was so young and so was Seth, they had their whole lives ahead of them.

Esme knew what was going through her husbands mind, the decision that he had to make was big— and she knew that only he could do it. She didn't trust herself, she hadn't tasted human blood in years. Even as Lacie grew up there would be times where she felt like she would lose control. She looked over to her mate again, she could see the eternal war he was having with himself. He looked back at her, as they made eye contact— Esme could see in his golden eyes that he was scared—

Terrified.

She had never seen him look so scared in their entire years of being together. But she trusted him, and she knew that Lacie would too.

They had to do this

For their family

For their daughter.

Esme gave her husband a reassuring before walking out into the hallway knowing that he wouldn't want her to see him. As she shut the door she collapsed on the floor, praying that her daughter would come back to them, she couldn't lose another child.

Carlisle hands gripped the desk, threatening to break off in his hands. His other hands covering his mouth, as if it will make the burning thirst in his throat go away. It took so much control to stop once the venom had gone into Lacie's blood. The had grown almost unbearable for the doctor, without a second thought he quickly ran out to the woods. At the river he saw Seth looking over at him, tears in his eyes.

"Did you do it?" Seths voice was filled with panic. Carlisle had just nodded at the boy, too ashamed to speak to his daughter imprint. The young boy walked over to the vampire and hugged him with a relieved sob escaping his mouth. "Thank you so much."

The rest of the Cullen children had rushed back to Forks once they heard the news. Excluding Alice who was with Bella on their way to Volterra to go save Edward who was devastated with the news that he had heard about his sister. Alice had felt so guilty about not seeing Lacie's future, knowing that her wolf imprint had to much of a strong scent to be able to see her sisters future anymore.

Rosalie had stuck herself to her mother, knowing how much support she would need right now.

Waiting..

Emmett wasn't even sure what to do, his sisters mortality had never really seemed real to him, he knew eventually that this would happen if she didn't chose to change. But he didn't except it to be so soon. He stood beside his wife, not wanting to go and see his sister. Scared if that's the last time he ever sees her.

The Cullen family all stood together in silence forgetting how long it had been, almost like time had blurred over the course of the few days. It had been so quiet without Lacie, this made them realise how much she tied everyone together and kept them happy.

They couldn't lose her...
