Oof, happy birthday to me (July 18th), but let's get on with the story.
Edit: My internet wouldn't let me update on my birthday oof

"He's way too dangerous! Send him to a mental elysium right away!"

It's been days since I've last seen Nagito, I haven't received any news regarding heath issues, but we can visit people on Tuesdays and Thursdays, sometimes Saturday. And since it was a Thursday I took this chance to visit during the hours available.

"W-welcome sir, how may I help you? Huh! H-hajime?" Mikan pointed out.

"Mikan? I didn't know you worked at a mental hospital too." I chuckled.

"I h-help all around the hospital!" She gave me an awkward and anxious smile, "Anyways..  what are you here for?"

"I'm here for Nagito." I replied and Mikan stepped backwards.

"Uhm, I know your relationship all, b-but are you sure? Eek! I didn't mean it in a bad way!" She squeaked in nervousness.

"What's wrong?" I questioned her as bystanders were coming and going.

"He's uh.. he's in a mental elysium." She whispered.

"Huh?"

"But you can still visit him, j-just be careful.." she whimpered and had me sign papers regarding the rules of visiting time.

As I reached the door that led to the room Nagito was contained in, my hand grew shaky and I struggled to open it. Was I nervous? But why? As I twisted the knob, I saw him.

"N-nagito?" Nagito was chained to a bed, suggesting that the staff had a hard time controlling him.

As he lifted his head and his eyes drifted to mine, the creepiness look faded quickly into a happy one.

"Hinata-kun! I'm so glad you would visit trash like me." His smile seemed even brighter than before, "So can we leave?"

I bit my lip, painfully dealing with the thought of having to tell him, "Uhm.. The thing is that they have to keep you for three more weeks." The hopeful look turned to despair again.

"Of course. It always turns out like this. It's just my luck." A laughter erupted from him, "I've been going crazy without you."

"Eh?!" I placed my hand on the door handle to get ready for an escape when needed.

"I just can't stand the thought of you being gone. I just can't handle it." His face darkened quickly and swirls rushed through his eyes, "Such despair! Is this what despair feels like? But I would prefer is hope returned, so you'll come back right? Right?"

It was obvious this place had the wrong effect on Nagito, it made his thought process worsen than before. I swallowed up all my courage and came closer to the rambling boy who couldn't really move because of the chains. The situation did seem a little familiar, but I didn't think too much of it so I pet his head which made him stop struggling and relax more.

"Just don't think too much about things. It'll all be over soon. Remember what you said about hope coming after despair? I don't really know but I think that after this, hope will come?"

"Yeah I guess.." he mumbled with his chin pressing against the mattress.

"So just wait for me, I'll come back." I tried to help him, but God knows what cheers him up? I quickly stood up and left the room, taking a small peek at him before shutting the door.

I sighed as I finally reached home. I did miss him very much, but it also pained me to see how he struggled to get a positive mindset. But in the end, that was just who he was.

-Three Weeks Later-

The doorbell rang and I ran to get it with Kazuichi and Fuyuhiko behind me sitting on the couch while we were playing cards against humanity and Chiaki who played on her device, expecting us to play some video games with her.

"Who is it-" my voice faded away as I saw Nagito at my doorstep with a big smile on his face.

"I'm finally free from that hell hole!" He squealed and hugged me tight, unaware of the two boys smirking behind us while Chiaki was still focused on her game.

"Are you doing better?" I asked, knowing the obvious answer.

His face quickly darkened, "I won't ever let them take me away from my hope again. But now that I'm with you again I feel good." He explained and finally noticed the others.

"Fuyuhiko, Chiaki and Kazuichi are visiting for a couple of hours. We were just playing cards against humanity." I explained to him as he tilted his head, his eyes showing jealousy towards Chiaki.

"We heard about what happened." Kazuichi frowned, "Must suck to be you."

Chiaki finally set her console down and smiled at Nagito kindly, "Welcome back."

"Thanks." He replied with more of a duller tone, "You all continue what you're doing. Sorry to be a burden." He closed the door to the bedroom shortly after to not be seen again.

"That was weird." Fuyuhiko remarked and we all nodded our heads in agreement.

After everybody left and the sound of their chattering disappeared, I opened the bedroom door and saw Nagito laying on the bed, curled up in a ball with his knees inclosed inside his arms.

"Hey, what was wrong when the others were over?" I sat on the sheets next to him.

"..." he didn't *bear* to say anything. (Excuse my Monokuma jokes, their pretty *unbearable* if you ask me)

I pulled him by the wrists to the point where he was pulled up to my chest. I could feel his breath against my neck which felt strange, but I focused on Nagito. Nagito soon wrapped his arms around my waist and made his way up to my lips where he planted a small kiss.

"I missed that too much." He sighed with the tiniest bit of drool coming out of his mouth.

"Are you good now?"

"Yeah, thanks." He looked at me in the eyes.

"I'm really in love with you, you know that right?" I let my back sink into the bed matress as Nagito did the same next to me with our fingers intertwined.

"I thought I was the only one." Nagito chuckled and turned to the ceiling, "I could get used to this life."

"Hajime, I have something to confess." Chiaki gave me a small peek when she stood up confidently under the cherry blossom tree for once without a video game console.

"Huh? What is it?" I tilted my head, being the dense person I was.

"I know you're dating Nagito and all, but I just need to get this off of my chest." She swallowed and opened her eyes, her gaze holding me still. "Hajime, I love you." She kissed me on the lips and showed a weak smile before running off. What am I supposed to do?
