THE FOLLOWING DAY, Ben spent the entire school hour with the distracted mermaid. He did this every tourney game, believing that Arietta was his lucky charm. Arietta didn't mind, enjoying their time without Audrey constantly complaining in her ear. Ben had been so busy lately that they haven't been able to hang out like they usually do.

Unfortunately, Arietta's peaceful day didn't last long, because right after school ended, Audrey found Ben and Arietta at their lockers.

Arietta and Ben were discussing their opponents for the tourney game when Audrey in front of Arietta to look at Ben, "Did you see what that fairy has been doing to all the commoner's hair," she spat.

Arietta closed her eyes, forcing herself not to say something mean to her best friends girlfriend. She instead plastered a phony smile on her face as she gritted, "Hello to you too, Audrey."

Audrey sent the mermaid a quick smile before whipping her hair in Arietta's face to look back at Ben, "She did it to Jane's hair too, and Fairy Godmother is not happy about it!"

Ben shrugged, shutting his locker and moving around Audrey to stand next to Arietta, "What's the harm?"

"It's gateway magic! Sure, it starts with the hair. Next thing you know, it's the lips, legs, clothes, and then everyone looks good and..." Audrey ranted before she looked up at Ben with a frown, "Where will I be?"

"Listen, Audrey," Arietta kindly began before she was cut off by the conceited princess, "I will see you later after my dress fitting for the coronation, okay?"

"Yeah, okay," Ben said, uninterested with his girlfriend's shallow problems.

"Bye, Bennyboo!"

Arietta's face squinted in disgust as she pulled a piece of hair out of her mouth, "Gross." Ben laughed at his best friends reaction, causing her to playfully smack him, "Not funny!"

"Hey, Bennyboo!" Mal's high pitched voice mocked, making Arietta and Ben turn to look at the girl.

"Hey," Ben and Arietta said in unison as they walked up to Mal with smiles on their faces.

Mal jiggled a bag of cookies in front of their faces with a smile, "I just made a batch of cookies. Double chocolate chip. Do you want one?"

Ben shook his head, politely, "Uh, I've got a big game. I usually don't eat a lot before a game but thank you so, so much. Thank you next time!" Ben grabbed Arietta so they could walk back to the field, but Arietta stopped him.

"I wanna try one," she smiled, turning back to the purple-haired fairy, "These were the ones you were baking last night?"

"Oh, yeah. I completely understand. Be careful of treats offered by kids of villains," Mal let out a defeated sigh watching Ben's hesitation to allow Arietta to try the cookies, "I'm sure every kid in Auradon knows that."
