Chapter 22- Don't Kiss And Tell
Clea
The first thing I did when I reached back to the Camp Breakaway grounds was to grab hold of Aria, give her a quick, “I need to talk to you” to stop any protests, and drag her back to our cabin. Alex was really annoyed by this, but he let it go.
It had been absolute horror last night. After I ran away from Adrian, I rushed back to the tent to find Sally waiting for me. I told her that I was feeling sick and that was why I had to rush away. She accepted it and gave everyone who called on me, the same excuse. After they left me alone, I thought over what had happened between Adrian and me, my mind buzzing with questions.
What do I do now?
How do I face him next time?
Adrian or Nathaniel?
Not unusual to say that I didn't get any sleep that night. The next morning, I avoided talking to anyone, mostly keeping to myself. I kept a lookout for Adrian who I thankfully didn't see, after I ran away from him.
By the time we reached back to the camp, it was already twilight. No one talked much on the hike, which was a huge relief. Aria kept sneaking me worried glances, but kept her mouth shut since we weren’t alone.
We reached back as the sun was setting, absolutely tired but eager for Karaoke Night later on. Well at least everyone else was, I was still freaked about the idea of seeing Nathaniel or Adrian later.
So anyway, here we are now, with Aria sitting on my bed and waiting for me to start. I started off like a bullet train, talking so rapidly that even my own words didn't make sense to me.
Aria stared at me for a few seconds, allowing my words to sink into her. I waited for her reaction, watching her carefully. And then she did the most unexpected thing.
The idiot started to laugh.
“Hahaha Hahaha! You ran away? Hahahahaha, dude this is so funny. Poor Adrian!!! Hahaha...I JUST CAN'T STOP! Hahahahaha!” Aria laughed with tears in her eyes while I scowled at her furiously!
“Oh shut up!” I shouted at her when she continued to laugh like she found King Kong in a room wearing a pink Tutu and dancing Swan Lake.
“You. Ran.... AWAY! Hahahahaha!”
“Oh my god Aria, stop laughing!”
“It's...Hahaha.. It's just so funny. Man, I wish I was there to see it.”
“Aria!” My voice echoed with warning.
“Okay, okay, sorry!” She said and then added under her breath, “But it's so funny!”
