               Chapter 24- A Night To Remember

I heard the crowd chant my name and I rocked the drums, earning a series of wild screams from the girls.

BANG! BANG! Ba DUM Dum DUM! BANG! CLASH! Ta-THUMP THUMP THUMP!

I felt like I was high, the adrenaline coursing through my veins like on fire.

I WAS ON FIRE BABY!

I spotted Aria in the crowd and blew her a flying kiss when we stopped playing. A few girls near her shrieked and tried to touch me, while Aria gave me a playful glare.

“Thank you! Thank you everyone!” Adrian said over the mike. He was the lead vocalist of Nightmare.

It had come as a real shock to some of them, Clea especially. Adrian was our secret weapon and with him in our band we were practically having the Battle of the Bands handed over to us.

When the next band came up, we got down from the stage and I walked towards Aria.

“ALEX YOU WERE AMAZING!” Aria laughed and jumped into my arms. I hugged her tight, breathing the scent of her hair and smiling in delight.

“Thanks babe,” I grinned down at her after letting her go.

“You know..” Aria said, one hand playing with a fake earring in my ear and another messing with my spiked hair, “you look really hot in this get-up..”

I bent down and whispered in her ear, “Want to find the nearest empty room, babe?”

Aria giggled and playfully smacked my arm; I laughed and acted like I was really wounded.

“Get a room!” Dell shouted at us.

“I wanted one, but Aria's not coming!” I shouted back and earned another smack from Aria.

“Come on, let's get a place to sit,” I told Aria and we walked over to a log lying on the ground. Aria snuggled into my jacket and I held her close, smiling into her hair.

“Where's kiddo?” I asked her, referring to Clea.

“Oh, she's somewhere enjoying herself,” Aria gave a secretive smile.

I lifted her chin and look into her eyes, “Something you're not telling me, sweetheart?”

 Aria shrugged her shoulders and told me, “You'll know soon enough.”

I raised an eyebrow and smiled teasingly. “Won't tell me, will you? Well, we can arrange something about that.”

Aria's eyes widened and she was out of my arms in a flash. She stuck a tongue out at me playfully and danced only a arm's breath away from me. I grinned at her mischievously and pounced on her. She sidestepped, as sure footed as a deer, and I growled like a lion and chased her.

Aria laughed and led me on playfully. Finally I caught her and we both fell, rolling down a slope until we came to a stop at the end.

“Ouch, it's not as romantic as they make it out in the movies,” Aria groaned, and I agreed with her.

“Well at least I caught you... And now-” I started to tickle her and she squeaked with delight. I grinned down at her and stopped.

Looking down at her flushed face, I moved closer to her and whispered, “I love you Aria, more than always and longer than forever.”
 
Aria's breathing hitched and her eyelashes lowered in a daze, “I love you too, Alex.”

I bent down and kissed her, promising her a happily ever after.

“Dell!” I called out, searching for him everywhere.

Where did that idiot disappear to?

“Hey sweetheart, are you lost?” a disgusting voice asked behind me.

I turned to see a drunk guy walking towards me, ogling at my body.

“Stay away freak,” I said with more confidence then I felt.

'I just wanted to play. Don't you want to play with me, doll?” the guy asked, his sickening voice disgusting me further.

Who was this guy? He wasn't part of the camp, that was for sure. Maybe one of those hikers that sometimes came to this part of the woods.

Where the hell was Dell?

I was starting to panic, looking around for a way to escape.

“Don't come a step closer, you freak, or I'll-”

“You'll do what, doll-face?”

“I'll rip out your balls and feed them to you!”I shouted at him.

Okay, maybe not the best thing to say at a time like this. Great... Provoke the raper.

The guy growled and moved forward. I brought my arms up to defend myself when suddenly-

“AHHHH-HAAAA-HHHAAA!” there came a jungle cry and Dell came out of nowhere, swinging  on rope like Tarzan. I then realized I was in the Wilderness Challenge path.

Dell landed in front of me and beat at his chest and shouted at the drunk, “Here female mine. MINE! AHHHHHHHH!”
