I might have guessed on what Eva meant by Kevin being 'different', but I couldn't have prepared myself for the hot mess I stumbled upon as soon as I opened his door.

Kevin's room was... disheveled, somehow. Compared to his usual neatness, it was an entirely different climate. He had a pile of clothes next to his bed, presumably from earlier today, and almost all of his drawers had been left open. His phone laid on the floor, as if he had dropped it and was too tired to pick it up.

Meanwhile Kevin, looked entirely miserable.

His skin was a sickly pale, much more than usual, and his hair a confusing mess. Part of it was matted and flat, while the rest was running wild. His eyes had bags, that seems to have gotten worse from this morning. I didn't think to notice it before, but with the rest of his appearance so sickly I had to pay attention.

He was laying down, his head resting in his pillow at the blanket only seemed to cover the bottom half of his waist. He was shirtless, and I figured it must've been the fever.

His eyes seemed glad to see me, yet he didn't even try for a smirk as he spoke,

"Why do you look like you've seen a ghost?" He let out a raspy cough, and I left the door slightly closed behind me as I walked over to him. I put my bag down, pushing in the drawers as I responded,

"Because you look like one. What the hell, why do you look so much worse from earlier?" I finished and pulled out his desk chair, moving it to face his bed as I leaned closer, touching his forehead. He was hot, even now, and I couldn't help but wonder if it was getting worse.

He watched me as I did this, his eyelids finally closing at my touch as he replied calmly,

"I was acting like I was fine so you wouldn't freak out," I raised a brow, running my hands through his hair soothingly as I spoke, my voice much softer,

"You shouldn't have done that." I stated plainly. He couldn't help but chuckle as he opened his eyes,

"No shit, because of your freaky sixth sense I ended up like this." I scoffed, a small grin appearing on my face as well,

"Don't blame me for knowing you so well." Now he seemed to go quiet for a moment, his eyes meeting mine as his smile faded. He looked like he was searching for something, and in this moment I didn't feel like stopping him. He seemed a lot more vulnerable now, similar to how he acted when we woke up together during the Friday evening. I knew better than to shut him out immediately.

He seemed ready to say something, before blinking and reaching up to grab my hand, pulling it away from his hair as he intertwined his fingers with mine. He rested our hands on his chest, yawning softly,

"Stay with me, Dove." I was left speechless, not able to say anything. I didn't know what he was asking... necessarily, whether his words had a deeper meaning than to stay beside him while he was sick, "at least for a little while."

I stayed silent, watching him carefully, before a small hum left me. I squeezed his hands softly, looking down at him,

"Where else would I go?" I asked, like one of those questions that don't really have answers. Still, he laughed at that one, that same smirk erupting on his face as he opened his eyes,

"Come here, with me." I raised a brow, about to question what he meant, "Just for a bit, get under the covers with me. You're like an ice pack right now." I scoffed, a familiar laugh leaving the both of us. Still, I grabbed the edge of his blanket, seeing him shuffle to the side of his bed. I climbed in, pulling the blanket up to my stomach as I faced Kevin.

His hands were already finding themselves around me, and I found myself moving closer to him. My left leg rested in between his, but I hesitated to pull him close. He noticed, propping himself slightly,
