She walked in the door, and I enthusiastically called out "Hey, beautiful!" quickly looking down to check the page number in my book before closing it and going up for a hug. "Hey, Honey!" She replied. She had a lot of things with her for the party tomorrow that she had to put down. I didn't even notice at first; the beautiful white dress she was wearing that I swear I have never seen before. "Woah... What's this?" I asked. "A dress" She teased with a wink. Before I asked her more questions, she kissed me. She isn't going to answer even if I asked just because she thinks it will bug me. She's also right. I laughed and we kissed again.
We sat down for a cooling dinner of barbeque ribs I made. Before we ate, though, she ran up stairs to change from her dress into a T-shirt and sweat pants.
Then we got ready for bed, rolling in and cuddling up next to each other. It is honestly the best feeling, sleeping next to a person you love, the warm, slow breath against your skin. The soft, comforting hand on my back, and holding her close as we both fell out of consciousness together. Ending one day to begin another, side by side, working through everything life throws at you. How I hope to spend the rest of my life.
