Shelby's P.O.V

"Oh Jess..." I entered her bedroom, where she was hanging out with Max and Ross. The three looked up at me. "You had the chance to stay safe," I said. "The chance to join me. To lead the EAPE with me." My sword was in my hand. Max moved in front of Jess. "I was only going to use this on... her, but you've upset me." The fire started glowing in his hands. But that couldn't stop me. I summoned Jess to my elemental area.

She knew she was done for. Nowhere to run. Nowhere to hide. "Shelby, surely there's no need to kill me over this," she stammered.

I laughed. That made Jess even more unsettled. "This sword has been used in so many battles, never has it lost."

Jess tried to push me back with her wind, but it merely whipped my hair. I slowly began walking over to her. "I loved you Jess, I really did. Breaking my heart is the biggest mistake one can make. Unfortunately, I can't let you escape from this."

"I'm sorry, I just didn't want anyone to get hurt..."

"They weren't gonna get hurt. Badly anyway. But now they are. And it's all your fault."

"I beg you, Shelby. Don't do it. Hurt me bad, just please don't kill me. I'll do anything."

"It'll feel better if you're dead. You won't have to suffer anymore. And I'll have it out of my system. It's a win-win."

"Everyone else will be put through the pain of me being gone."

"You really think they care?" I laughed again. "They couldn't care less about you."

"Why else would Max protect me?!"

"You really think I care about the pain he will suffer?! He may have been my childhood friend, but he still hurt me bad. All the time. And his defence was simply that I hurt him too, which I didn't. But that hurt isn't enough to kill someone. But the despair of losing someone... is that sweet revenge. He's lucky I've not harmed Ross any more than a few words and a burn on the arm."

"There has to be something I can do to make it up to you."

"To die. Any final words?"

"N-no... y-you can't do this to me! I'll give you everything you desire!"

"Hm. No you can't."

My sword went straight through her chest. Her scream was like music to my ears. She collapsed, first onto her knees, then onto her front. A puddle of  blood began to form. "I'm... s-sorry..." she gasped out before she was gone.

It was like my life was never complete till Jess died. Yet... I had this feeling of déjà vu. I assumed it was from when my soul killed Lizzie's. 'Funny... that's just how my situation with Lizzie panned out. But instead of a blade entering her chest, it was my hand.'

'Do you think I could do that?'

'With practice and power. But... Shelby, I'm proud of you. You've come so far already. Now it's time we take on the world.'
