gritty goddess,

skin of milk, eyes of amber honey,

lips of ambrosia, seafoam locks of lust

first loves kiss adorns her neck

heartbreak in her bosom, femininity in her hips

threads of fate entwine her bones,

star crossed lovers, her tears

they say to touch her is to die.

sweet, addicting, opulent,

ensnared, she lifts me to the heavens

whispering whimsies of love,

volatile feelings spun into webs of lies

smoothing cracks, covering warning glimpses of scarlett,

i excused every flaw i saw, not knowing it would break me

in her arms,

i didn't stand a chance

running into her honeymooned embrace,

i fell in love with you

goddess of love,

cruel, snaring, ruined

played me like a love song

short, poignant, passionate,

and gone

where are you now venus?

where are you sweet lies, your poisoned embrace?
