Chapter 4

We arrived at the party but there wasn't a spot to park.  "why don't you guys go find us a spot and me and Brooklyn will go in?"  Ashley suggested "no no no your not getting rid of me that easy why don't you And Zac go in and me and Ashley will go find a spot?"  Owen said in response.  She laughed and got out with zac.  Thanks for asking what I wanted guys. " shall we"  he asked making it sound like he was giving me a chance.  "um"   "great"  then he sped up the hill to find a spot.  We were passing several but he just kept  driving. "um there's one"  I said and pointing to it.  He didn't even acknowledge me.  Omg I knew it he's like some crazy ax murderer and he's dragging me to my death.  After I finished my thought I assumed I had a worried look on my face because he said "you seem scared am I that intimidating?"   I stayed quiet for a moment then spoke up "were are you taking me?"  he started laughing " I don't understand"  "you think I'm kidnapping you?"  ...    "well don't worry I'm not I'm just parking a little farther so we have time to talk about ourselves on the way back I figured if we're going to a party together then we ought to know more about each other right?"  I was so relieved to hear that.  "oh yes I see."   "so the more time to walk more time to talk"  "oh okay"  we finally pulled into a spot and got out.  "so tell me about yourself Brooklyn"  its funny that now he's the confident one and I'm the shy one when just a few days ago it was the opposite.  "um I don't know my best friend is ashley"  I've lived here in Nebraska for 9 years now I moved from Minnesota when 7 and that's were I was born I'm 16.  Now your turn. "

" haha okay well I'm 17,  I recently moved from Arizona to here my dad got a good job offer.  My favorite color is red and I love fried meat. " I giggled at the last part  " anything else? " I asked "  I also like pizza. " he said. "  me too"  I said shyly for some reason.  There was a few moments of silence when I noticed him staring at me. " what are you looking at?"   "nothing"  he turned and smirked  I looked back to the road finally the house was in view. As we walked in all eyes were on us. I knew the thoughts that were going through there head she is with him?   But she's not popular.  Regina was shooting daggers through the crowd of now dancing people.  I didn't notice that Owen stopped walking until I bumped into him.  "woah woah I know it's hard to resist all this but at least wait until we're alone"  he smirked at me.  I folded my arms and glared at him.  "you stopped walking and I wasnt paying attention." I said in a monotone voice.   "mhmmm. "  I rolled my eyes and began to look for Ashley.  I found her and zac in the corner swallowing each other.  I tapped there shoulders.  " I hate to interrupt but I need ashley for a moment please"  " dont keep he waiting to long"   he said.  Ugh they've known each other a day what are they doing?  " so you wanna tell me why you were just over there swallowing zac?"    I said once we got to a less populated spot.   " you brought me here as his date right?"  "wait don't tell me you like him too"  she said.  I almost slapped her just for that.  "no but you only have known him for less than  a day"    "yea well you've only known owen for the same amount of time and we're spending the night over there."   "point taken but I'm not doing anything"   just then regina popped out of the crowd " listen if you don't stay away from my man then we're going to have some issues"  she said looking directly at me.   " and who exactly is 'your man'"  I said with a sarcastic attitude.  " don't play dumb you know who I'm talking about"    "no I dont fill me in"  I said also noticing ashley pulled out her phone to record.  " Owen will be mine"    " oh yea did he invite you to this party? Like he did me?"   "well no not exactly but um he likes me I saw him looking at my ass"    " be was probably admiring the art of plastic and how much effort the doctor had to go to make it from flat to that."  I said.  She snorted but before she  could say anything else Owen came over pushing past Regina coming straight to me. " hey brook can I have this dance"  he said then I realized a slow dance song was on.  I smirked and turned red.  "sure she would love to"  ashley spoke for me. Regina stood back shocked as Owen reached his hand out for mine.  He pulled me to the center of the dance floor.  He put his hands on my hips and I put my hands on his broad and muscular shoulders.  We slowly swayed back and forth finally I put my head on his shoulder.  It seemed so right.  I noticed Regina furious in the corner I left her in then she started storming to the Dj booth a smiled her way to a new song.  We pulled apart when the next song started.  " let's get out of here yea?"  he said   " I'd love that"  I said then realized how inappropriate our conversation sounded.  I went back to find ashley then saw her back swallowing zac.  I grabbed both there ears and started pulling to Owens car although Owen had gone to tell the rest of the people that were coming tonight that we were leaving.   We all got in the car zac and ashley herd from the front with there slurping and such.  Finally Owen came got in and said "all ready"  I was hoping the night would be normal but in with the hottest guy in school how could It be normal?
