Girl Meets I Didn't Do It!

Just another ordinary day, Right?

Riley's POV

I was awoken from my dream about a certain Texas cowboy, by non other than Maya Hart herself. I apparently forgot to lock my window last night as I was covered with feathers from a pillow thrown across the room.

"Rise and shine sleepy head!" Maya called as I groggily say up.

All I could manage was a small grumble before flopping back again. My brain hurt and all I wanted to do was sleep.

" Come on Riley! You know cowboy is waiting for you at school, just get up."

" But Maya I am too sle....."

I was cut off by my best friend throwing a glass of water on my head.

I shot up like a rocket, glaring menacingly at her through my sobbing wet hair. I obviously wasn't that intimidating as she immediately fell to the floor laughing.

I stood up and shuffled to where she was lying on the floor ready to pounce but before I could, Auggie jumped on my back screaming,

"Auggie to the rescue!"

Maya immediately stood up and sprinted out the door shouting, " I owe you Curly Fry."

This was going to be a long day.

Me and Maya walked through the door of our middle school, We came to a stop at our lockers when I immediately noticed Lucas heading my way, I couldn't help but smile.

"Howdy Gals" Lucas greeted in his cute Texas accent,

" H- Hey" I managed to get out, why can't I help being so nervous around him?

"Hey there hop - along, where'd you park the horse this morning ey?" Maya asked clearly trying to make fun of Lucas. But it's just so cute how he doesn't let her get to him.

"Parked out front, if you wanna lift Ma'am." Lucas said tipping his imaginary hat.

Maya just scowled.

Suddenly the bell rang and we all headed off the first class, History.

I walk in and sit next to Maya In front of Farkle who was here early, Figures.

It was in the middle of a lecture about some revolution I wasn't listening to, I was too busy thinking of Lucas, when the door opened and 5 kids walked in. Maya was the first to hear as she was clearly more interested in decorating her desk than listening to the conditions of factories.

"Ah! Here we are, the new students I was talking about, let's welcome them to our school!" My dad announced, as the kids nervously walked their way up to the front of the class.
